Thanks for the good review. I'm planning to get a new laptop since mine is bulky and heavy, and my new job wants me to roam around with a laptop nearby. Anyhow... The track pad feature is available in all windows 10 laptops, i think? I'm using Toshiba Satellite and it's the same feature.

Best laptop in the market in my opinion, I wish HP and the other OEM's would adopt the 3:2 aspect ratio of the Surface or Pixel notebooks!

Just wanted to say that based on the review of this video and about a dozen other tech 'tubers and despite people online complaining about overheating on the older ones I bought this machine over 4th of July sale...so fucking happy with it. Its literally perfect for me where I do a little bit of gaming in games like Rocket League and RTS games, a little bit of art for tattoo design, and a LOT of movie watching haha. Display is beautiful, battery is long enough at ~6-8 hours streaming video at screen full brightness. Keyboard being offset does bother me a tad but not nearly as much as I thought.

Has anyone had any lag spike issues where the mouse will not respond when you scroll on the track pad and then afterwards jump to the desired direction when you tap the track pad again? Does a wireless mouse solve this issue?

How did the screen wobble hold ? Did it got worse ? How about battery ? Was it consistent ? Did you had any issues with touchpad ? I like your videos but you seem to fail to cover some keypoints sometimes.

What do you recommend for a designer using AutoCAD and Revit? I was recommended this computer and an Asus since they both have a graphics card. But I'm not too smart w/ computers. I've been an Apple user forever and I feel like there's not much thought put into finding a Mac. Thanks :)

Green_Knight Q there are definitely better ones but the 940mx helps...if you're doing video editing seriously look for something with a stronger GPU like a 1050

You have audio issues. You must have connected your microphone to your table.

Battery dies while shutdown. After booting up overnight it went from like 75 to 20 percent. Had to return two of them. Good luck.

These are all not the best option for pure specs. For good specs + premium build, I would check out Razor's laptops.

Mike Ramos You can take a look at the new Lenovo 720 yoga's 15" model. Comes with a quad core i7, 4k display, aluminium build, and 1050 GTX for $1,500, although Best buy currently has it for $1,300. Not many reviews out there for it though, people seem to say the Lenovo is a great laptop but the fans can get a little annoying.

Seylan Naidoo I'd say the Lenovo is a total MacBook Pro knock off. I own one and when I am out and about I'm always being asked what laptop it is because people can tell it's not Mac but that it looks just like it.

no it does not wobble when you type unless you REALLY hammer on it. It does however wobble when you touch it. using the touch pen extensively you'll wanna hold the screen with your other hand

steven01804 I own this laptop, if has a slight wobble with simple touches but every 2 in 1 has that. It isn't easy too nudge though, holding it's place even when I use a pen. Love that I can open it with a single hand and not have to hold down the bottom portion of the laptop.

XPS can have better display, CPU and graphics, but its not fair to compare the Spectre with a normal Laptop as this Spectre is meant to be used by artists and multimedia users. Yes, you can probably find a cheaper 15in 4k display laptop in the market, but compare the $1500 - $2000 bucks 15.6inches HP Spectre (and take it as an artist`s canvas)versus a Wacom mobile studio Pro 16inches for around $3000 bucks, and you will realize HP Spectre is the less expensive 15,6in digital artist`s canvas in the market.

I've just bought a three month old second hander 13 inch i7 , 16 gig ram and 1td ssd . 1500 pound laptop for £1050 so cannot complain. Came with a USB-C to Ethernet adapter(you'll need this) , matching mouse and pen. WHEN IT COMES TO CONNECTING TO THE WIFI, IT IS FUCKING RUBBISH! BLOODY TEMPERAMENTAL IS THE ONLY WAY TO PUT IT. DRIVING ME MENTAL. Updated network adapter drivers from Microsoft and still pissing me around. Router has no problems with other laptops running 7 , two PS 4s, Ipad 2 , Ipad mini , Iphones , Samsung Smart TV , Sony Smart TV. It's just this that has problems. I hope someone on here has got an idea of how to fix it, apart from drowning it in my bath and claiming on the buildings and contents.

Does anyone really use tablet mode? Tent mode is the same as just laptop mode. Real gimmicky these 2 in 1's, mainly popular as they are "different", the teen market gets bored easy and these are of course "different". At least you can still use this as a normal laptop so no big deal. But of course you are paying a premium for that look. One thing (of many) that I cannot understand with Windows laptops is they are terrible on sleep mode. My MacBook Pro I just open and within 2-3 seconds it is awake and synced but my XPS 13 has to boot from hibernation (default) and takes a lot longer, 10-15 seconds and then I have to wait for sync assuming it is not updating. What's this all about? It's not a deal breaker but why in 2017 do Windows laptops have poor sleep optimisation? As for this HP Spectre, it is one of many that are very good premium laptops with high spec for a fast experience. Very subjective as to what one is better though it is great that OEMs including MS are moving away from the Surface Pro business model as that was a jack of all trades but master of none and a very over hyped expensive product. The Windows tablet sector will shrink as more people realise what a compromised product these tablets are. The Surface Laptop is the first MS computer hardware that I have actually thought useful and it should have been their first release, a typical Miss by MS, but better late than never.

it's not good value for money, imo. The Dell XPS 15 is much better because you get 4 core CPUs paired with a GTX 1050, and the XPS is also easy to upgrade on your own

And if you really want the 1050 but an HP laptop, there's the HP Pavilion 15t which has the 7700HQ, SSD+HDD, GTX 1050 for less than $1000

We completely agree. While the HP Spectre is beautiful, the "U" CPU is lacking compared to the XPS 13/15 of which both have a CPU comparable to desktop.

Almost no one actually needs anything more than a "U" CPU. You're wasting your money buying a quad-core laptop if you aren't doing huge number crunching or have a day job that requires hours of video rendering every day. Most people don't have those needs. The Spectre has a better display than the XPS 15 and it's not a shitty Dell product.
