HP Tuners - How to calibrate the speedo and shift points using HP Tuners after a gear change.

In this video I was having some issues with the shift points on my 2002 Camaro SS after a gear swap.Using HP Tuners I got the speedo and shift points calibrated perfectly.

I’d love to see more of what you can do with HP tuners. It’s a great skill to know. Spent thousands over the years on a chassis dyno paying someone to tune it for me.

Yeah it can save alot of money and hassles getting dyno time.It is great to be able to do this stuff yourself if your installing headers or changing gears or tire size.But I still think if you're doing something like a cam and heads going to a experienced tuner with a dyno is definitely worth the money.I will probably make more videos of the simple stuff that can be done at home without getting into trouble.

I was wondering why my car wasn’t shifting at the right speed and sometimes it would shift at 5500 instead of 6750. I changed my drive ratio from 3:63 to 3:91. Thank you! This clears up the mucky water now

Yeah it would be pretty easy to get everything sorted after your gear swap.But I will say that with your setup making so much power and being boosted the tuning is better left to experienced professionals.

hp tuners has the calculator to convert the tires size will be on the tools tab my friend to do the math ..thanks for cheering your knowledge ✌️✌️

FANTASTIC video! I've been meaning to ask - how in the world do you figure out the max wheel and tire dimensions with appropriate offset that will fit the rear wheel well on the 4th gen?

If you buy a car and unsure if something is done to it. Will HPTuner can and tell you what might be installed?

It can tell if the tune has been changed.You just download a stock tune for the vehicle you have from HP tuners website and compare it to the tune that is in the car in question.But if can't really tell if the car has a cam or ported heads but you can usually tell that by the sound or performance.It would tell you if I had different gears.

Does it automatically flash to car after you click adjust?

No it doesn't.When you make changes to the tune you first have to save it, which is saved as a file on your computer.Then you choose that file a flash it to the cars ECM.

No problem. Good luck with tuning. It can definitely be scary doing it for the first time but if you keep changes small you should not have any issues.
