BIG MISTAKE: 2024 HP VICTUS'S with "INTEL HX" processors HAVE 2ND SSD SLOT (2 SSD sockets TOTAL) BUT with AMD processors(like 8845hs) they don't (ONLY 1 SSD socket TOTAL). (other processors? i don't know) i like ur reviews and style. just wanted to warn the audience. thank u. strangely built in ssd s are very fast in intel hx victus s just as u mention. whereas slow in amd victuses.

Laptop with loud fans: usually runs cool to maintain performance Laptop without loud fans (alienware, ultra compact laptops): Thermal throttle, inconsistent performance. I just bought 2 laptops for black friday with the same internals, but one is very compact with premium build quality. The other is big,cheap, and loud. The loud one gets 99.4% consistency on 20 tests ran back to back. The thin one only got 91% because the thermal throttling decreased performance at one point. The bigger one also gets about 10-15% better performance, with the same hardware.

@@doridori727 Well, it's enough for the Predator 16, only it has the RTX 4060 and the HP Victus 16 has RTX 4070, I just don't know if it's worth it, for the difference of $250

I took 2 game dev courses using an RTX 2060 laptop 6 year old card. Its fairly decent. So a 4000 series should be a BIG BOI upgrade and have no issues.

I loved my ROG Strix. Word of warning. DO NOT RUN IT VERTICALLY. I bought a vertical mount to run my G15 on external display with its lid closed. Within 5 days of buying the vertical mount, it overheated. When I took it apart, all the liquid metal ran off the CPU and GPU die and there were black marks on both of them. People say liquid metal is not known to leak in a vertical position and cite the PS5 as proof. Well, my laptop was a beast for 2 years straight until this vertical mount. Th liquid metal was pooled at the bottom, consistent with vertical position. RIP.

You can buy an 8GB stick to upgrade the unit or even better get 2 16GB Stick to upgrade it to 32GB

I am stumped between this and a Lenovo legion 5i Lenovo legion 5i : rtx 4060 and i7 13650hx Hp victus: rtx 4070 and i7 14700hx Which one should I get , I know the victus has better specs but still not sure on build quality and cooling , also the screen is 144 hz and 64% srgb while the legion 5 is 165hz and 100% srgb, plss help anyone

lenovo, cooling is basically the same for almost all gaming laptops. but lenovo easily wins when it comes to build quality
