There are another function for the capacitors, they provide instant power when requiered. Usually you put one as close as posible to the chip because when the chip requires power the track acts as an inductor and takes time to travel that power. In this case as you Said you have a lot and near.
@mercuryfor19566 ай бұрын
ok, that what sorin saying. Because of the L and R of the tracks, the capacitors give the power kickly

At this post I am very keen to buy such a device. I understand they are made with various configure as to chip set and memory. I am very gad to have an assist as to remove a mother board where I encounter a problem. And, I suspect capacitor fail will be a general fault to the form as build. As to my work bench, I have a failed device as a 16 track recorder, where a flashing to all contro| (track indicators and power) and 9v power with no fu|| power on. the unit as records voca| and guitar with a dedicated hard drive with a curious reset feature as initia| state post power off required. One other new device, as midi controller with a difficult interface via 2nd bank (press to enter) that will not easily configure or record/playback. The key feature as sequence control and capture/playback. It so happens as brand, very difficult interface to product and end use. Thank you for the "Easter treat" and the wonderful recap of exactly, why, capacitor placement is a domain as FCC demanded build. Also, I like the solder and flux product as arrived via UK to US mail. (fast delivery) I recommend those products to channel viewers as first rate and good stock to workbench as routine to repair select. Regards from Washington State, US. I remain an interested student to masterful tech domain as is posted to my enjoyment. M.

Ah-ha... I see the BIOS battery that needs replacement after 5 years or so. Picked on up for $210 (US) and this thing is really fast ! But the BIOS batter is bad, it take a full minute once plugged in to start (back power light flashes - front power light goes on - then off- then on) and then the PC starts. It will be OK unless you unplug it, then that minute startup procedure starts again. YA think they would put the plug on top, and just plug in a new battery.. newer models do ! !

im not an expert or engineer but those capacitor job is to suppress the noise produced by the switching Mosfet .I build a H bridge for a power tool and i disregard the noise it make at first it work fine but after some use the controller ic that generate the pm signal got destroyed because of the interference of the noise on the main power rail .removing one or tow capacitor from the circuit is not going to make so much difference because the motherboard is over engineer or rather perfectly calculated and one or 2 capacitor is not going to make too much difference but you said in the video it is fine to remove all of those capacitor and those are only for the FCC regulation i think it not right .I'm not judging you job is perfect and you detect the fault so easy great job nice video.

The computer is expensive only because it's repairable and has upgradable/replaceable modules. Non-upgradable PCs are cheap because the manufacturer knows it can't be easily fixed or upgraded so user has to buy a new one, thus guaranteed income for them. It's similar to how long a TV lasts. If you buy one TV and it lasts 100 years the manufacturer will go broke quickly so they make it last x-amount of time then it dies and you buy another for a cheap price. Same for this PC.... lasts a long time / easily repairable / upgradable so user pays more for it up front because the manufacturer will sell less of them over the lifetime of the product. It's a standard practice that all manufacturers do.
