Thank you for making a new 32SII. My original unit is starting to falter and I was wondering why there wasn't a replacement anywhere.

HP48S is without question my favorite calculator... would be first in line for a DM48

I've always wanted a calculator with a modeless, blended RPN and algebraic operation. So you could type either: 1 ENT 2 ENT + or: 1 + 2 ENT in either case ending up with 3 on the stack. RPN purists will object to not being able to type: 1 ENT 2 + To satisfy them, there could be a 'RPN Priority' mode allowing the above shortcut for RPN, but requiring any algebraic entry to start with a non-numeric key, so for example, enclose the entire expression in brackets (with automatic bracket closure on ENT, this need only be one extra keystroke and none if the expression already starts with a non-numeric). As well as giving user choice of the best mode for each problem, and allowing someone used to algebraic mode (lets face it, just about everybody these days!) to pick up the calculator and use it immediately, mixing modes also works very nicely for specific problems such as costing: 23.04 x 2 ENT 12.11 ENT 34.76 x 3 ENT + + + In general, I'd like to see more designs which extrapolate the HP legacy as it might have evolved if continued onto modern hardware rather than emulating decades old highly constrained designs and adding a few modern bells and whistles!

The DM32 prototype looks beautiful, except for the simulated dot matrix font. I really hope they allow a user option to change this to a font that takes advantage of the full display resolution. Also, the point made by a questioner about a model with a re-legendable keyboard is a good one, as are the difficulties expressed in the answer. But how about printing just the four-function and number legends plus the letters of the alphabet on the keytops and leaving the tops otherwise blank with all the legends people might want to customize on an acetate overlay?

[ 49:18 ]: "Which other models should be considered for future DMCP products, and why?" DMuP: The new DM32 hardware, with a minimal loader program that allows the user to load any firmware they choose, and with micropython (uPython) loaded by default. The user can load something else instead of micropython or they could simply write some calculator software using micropython. Ship the the DMuP with blank keys/faceplate and with the option to order just the keys and faceplate. Let anyone who wants to roll their own make stickers or contract with someone to silk screen their own legends. You might also consider making DM41/DM42/DM32 keys/faceplates available in case they just want to make a new faceplate and keep the key legends as is. Advantage: Super easy to develop the software, virually no hardware development costs (just have them skip a step when making the keys/faceplate). This would also completely bypass the sort of problems you had with the WP43 team.

Add 16c mode. Ability to display in hex and b10 in different rows of display, function buttons to easily change the entry base.
