That block you have is a 1st Gen 4.6 I can tell by the shape of it. the head it using is the same as a 4.1 it only fit on the gen14.6. there a v2 4.6 and the head is slightly different bolt pattern spacing and the heads gray they won't interchange but the piston and sleeve fit both gen block. For some reason they changed the head and button bolt spacing. What really interesting is the first gen blocks look the same in each engine size 3.5 ,4.1, 4.6 first gen blocks look exactly the same on the outside it impossible to tell what the engine size is on a 1gen block in less you open the engine of course the bore is different of course on the inside. But the sec gen v2 block are different on the outside for each engine so you can kinda tell what size it is on a v2 and all have different print on the actual blocks 21 25 28 printed on it the other interesting thing is the 3.5 and 4.1 use the same parts except the piston and sleeve and button top the rest of the parts interchange on the engine. Just a fyi on savage engine the only reason I no is because I have each one in each size in both gen of engines it took me a while to realize what was what and to double check each size between each gen of engine. 🛠️💯👍✌️🍻 Brian food🤯 p.s the dot is on head button on the sh engines and it supposed to be line up with the engine sleeve pin but I'm not sure why savage engine don't have a dot
@thebug4046 Жыл бұрын
Yeah that makes sense and with the head button dot I have noticed that some people said it's absolutely crucial and I have checked every way possible and haven't found any difference in the way it goes on most engines. I usually just have it facing towards the front of the block never had any issues so far maybe with some extremely expensive Italian or Japanese engines it's critical or something I'm not too sure

Hey, First, I enjoy your technically informative yet entertaining videos. I am currently rebuilding my very first nitro, an HPI F4.6. You mentioned that the ofna Force 2.8 engine uses the same internals. Since the HPI parts are stupidly expensive, I would like to go with that option. Could you please provide me with a part number, engine number, or something similar so, I can ensure I order the right stuff? I'm in South Africa, so transport is hellishly expensive, and if it's wrong, I'm screwed. Thanks!

The last piston and sleeve kit i seen on eBay was 250$ the parts don't exist for it unfortunately. The best thing to do is go and order a force .32 or .36 they are the same manufacturer as the HPI engine and a lot cheaper

Bruh, I have a near mint condition engine, not even 15 minutes of runtime on it and it’s 16 years old. Fuel tank has remnant blue 16 year old fuel residue. I have 100% zero knowledge of these, it was a gift I received when I was a kid. My dad tried to “teach” me how to use it, immediately rolled it and something with the antenna wouldn’t work. I was clearing out old stuff from my parents garage and pulled it down, every part on it is OEM and not even kidding, fifteen minutes of runtime. Is there a way you could potentially make a video giving a guy like me an entire rundown of how to breakdown and separate each component for inspection and cleaning? I feel bad for kid me, and bringing this thing to life and really learning it would be a super cool thing for me to actually do for my kid down the line. If not, any advice would be solid 🙏
@thebug40467 ай бұрын
Dude that's freaking awesome! one thing I would suggest doing is buying yourself a new radio set battery kit for it as the old school electronics like to glitch and have runaways which would destroy your truck if that happened! If the truck only had 15 minutes of run time on it I wouldn't worry about taking the truck apart but definitely taking the engine apart to clean it and cleaning the fuel system if you live in the United States you can buy something called heet in a yellow bottle to clean your tank out. I am an admin in the Nitro RC enthusiasts group on Facebook if you want to post pictures and ask questions it would be easier to get you the help you need! 🍻💯
