Oh what a treat! I have taken mine and done the outlining in different shades but have gotten stuck with fear that my feathers aren't so great, but hey!, now you have reminded me that the cost is minimal and I can just try it again if I have wet chicken feathers! "Be fearless!"

This was sew AWEMAZING!!!! Love Vicki and Kelly - I am just in awe ♡♡♡ Wonderful wonderful job Kelly - I absolutely love your middle on the white DB with the stamens, really makes the center "pop"! Thank you Handi-Quilter for filming this to share with us. I can't remember what Kelly said she uses in the bobbin? I'll just have to re-watch and re-watch again! I have six of these panels, but NOW I know they are going to come out with a queen size one, let's me know I can make the others as gifts! Happy Stitching! :)

love this video. Vicki, you do such a good job with questions to point out fine details of what we all want to know or need to know in order to improve our quilting (such as how to make choices and ever where to place lighting) The camera was expertly handled as well. Your presentations have audio and visual matched up -- it is a joy to watch and learn. Thank you so very much.

I have done two of these panels…the Dahlia and the Poinsettia. I spray and pin basted. Started in the center and outlined each petal before doing the dense fillers. Got wavy edges , grrrr! Any suggestions to prevent the wavy edges? The quilts both measure square on the edges and on the diagonals. I quilt on a sit down long arm.

Because this is a digitally printed fabric, have you found it a problem having lighter back of the fabric coming up to the top in the darker top areas of the quilt? I've heard that a ball point needle can help with this problem. Your quilting Kelly is spectacular. Love these panels!!

When using the 100wt. thread,,do you only thread it through two holes on the thread guide since it is so fine, or even just one hole? And what does 700 mean when she talked about the speed in manual mode? I tend to do 40% when I sew.

Can this be done on a regular sewing machine?

I like to just baste projects directly on sweet 16 that are this size. It is very quick. I pin 6 or so pins on top edge. Hang layers down with gravity. Baste center top and down. Move over palm width and repeat across. Takes about 3 minutes and basting stitches just pull out very easily. My husband is waiting for me to use it to tie my shoes...

I have a question. I'm a newbie and have the panel that has 3 different flowers, but I also have the big one. When you said you go around each petal, then unpin, do you mean you do that to turn the quilt to finish all the petals? I'm not quite sure why you would have to unpin it. Thank you.
@kellyashton70404 жыл бұрын
I stitch around each petal all the way to the bottom then take out the pins attaching the top to the leader so that I can roll back and forth to quilt more densely in each petal.
