Here is the photo story from when I purchased my car in 2009. Then rebuilding the original engine in 2011 & then a full bare metal restoration starting in late 2013, up to completion in 2016.

The poor things rusted quickly, most within 10 years had holes everywhere. It looks very luxurious, it never left the factory this good

Thanks for your comment. Yes they rusted out very quickly. My car spent it's early life in Western Australia. No doubt, that was the reason why it didn't have any serious rust issues.

Awesome job. Looks fantastic! In MUCH better condition than mine, but I'm hoping I can still save the old girl one day.

Beautiful job mate. All the subtle mods fitted in well. Thin white walls like original would look better but that's a personal taste thing I spose.

Thanks for your kind words '' Fitzy " . Yes we all have different taste on things. It would be boring if we all had the same taste. Cheers Glenn.

Mate could you shake the camera enough??? Stuffed a great moment of nostalgia, I love that car, it's my first in 67. Thanks anyway.

Hi Murat, not quite sure what you mean by, could you shake the camera enough. Not sure what device you were watching it on. I have just watched it again on my computer & phone, there isn't any camera shaking, unfortunately the music soundtrack has been muted by KZbin. Regards Glenn.

I stumbled accross this video while trying to find out the bolt size for attaching the bellhousing to an early model 186 block. I think they are 3/8 UNC. In which case these bolts have bee in and out several times because they are a bit sloppy. I may have to drill them out and tap them to 7/16. I would be grateful for your opinion. Do you still have the HR? I think they were one of the best looking holdens. I repainted one for a friend in 74/75. It looked beautiful but it didn't measure up to yours. Cheers Doug.

Hi Doug, I am not sure on the bolt size. I just had a look at the HR workshop manual, which doesn't tell you. It should be ok to drill & tap them to the next size, or maybe run a tap through, with the original size & get some new high tensile bolts. Yes I still have the car. Cheers Glenn.
