I’ve always dreamt about this car since I was a teenager, when this car graced the pages of HRM back in the mid-nineties. I read the article on it many times over and still have most of it memorized. This is still one of the baddest street cars of all time, in my opinion. I still wish to this day that I could buy it, but I’m pretty sure it’s long gone.

Yes, he sold it a long time ago. He started driving for my buddy Bob Hood in his '68 nova ( you can find that in HOT ROD ) magazine as well. Not anymore though. Bob sold it & went Sprint Car racing in the day these cars actually drove on the street . Raced on the street , unlike nowadays where everyone puts it in a trailer, pushes it with a golf cart.

My brother bought a new 1965 Chevy, 396 4-speed. It was maroon, with maroon interior including bucket seats. We went on vacation in it.

It was modified to work backwards for a reverse pattern valvebody. Basically the notches were reworked so pushing down went from 1st to second only then pull and drop again for third. if third was needed, sometimes he used a powerglide

Do it yourself, home garage innovations is what made America unique. In the EU there is a saying, "American's try to make the egg better than the chicken." And it is true. We are a nation of tinkerers. It is also true, more patents have been given to American tinkerers than any other group. So, keep on, keepen on!
