Watched/listened to this for the first time last night, started sobbing at “it’s so good to see you”. Watched it a second time knowing what it was about, ugly cried through the entire song. Today I thought, ‘I’ll be fine without the video’ so bought the song on iTunes and put it on a playlist. Was sitting on the couch in a perfectly fine mood eating snacks when it came on.. got to the bridge again and literally burst into tears with Cheetos in my mouth. And I never cry. Very sorry for your loss, this is an absolutely gorgeous work of art 💕

You are so there. This experience opened a part of me that was asleep. Loving someone and entering this new space of times bygone that are now appreciated in the deepest of sense and importance. I will work hard trying to listen like a note reverberating and appreciate more the souls I have the privilege of spending time with. Glad you deeply felt this experience and forever.

You are hands down the best interviewer I have ever come across, found your work through the west wing weekly and learned about your other talents there. I’m really sorry about your mom-this wonderful song is an masterful monument, so powerful

Thank you for sharing this, Hrishi, it's beautiful. I'm so sorry for your loss. My aunt died suddenly six years ago and later I had a dream where I ordered a cab and she was the driver. It was just wonderful to see and talk to her again, like a gift from my subconscious.

How funny to hear Hrishikesh sing after years of listening to him speak. Obviously he has a great voice, and this song, like Yo-Yo Ma, rules.

Same for me. The same. I cried so much listening to this song. Very profound and expressive. I feel her next to me. It’s also a comprehension of the loss process. You are a piece of a dream mamy.❤

I read all the comments about people crying to this song and sort of mentally scoffed at the idea that so many people are having the same experience. I thought this was maybe the sentimental version of mass hysteria I guess. Then I clicked on the video. I'm humbled to say that I held back tears as well. I don't even cry at funerals so this surprised me. My condolences to the artist and those moved by this music and video. I understand now.

Watched your ted talk and searched for this song.. For the first time in my life a song gave me a lot of feelings at the same time - Longing, Grief, Happiness and Pain.. Tears rolled down when the moment the Person disappeared.. I lost my mother 4 years ago, All along the song I felt she was with me.. Thank you brother.. Like you said in your ted talk you really made me feel the song and understand your perspective.. More power to you brother and lots of love.. Stay Strong..

The lyrics in this beautiful song so clearly represent the pictures in my heart and mind of how I feel about my late husband. He will always be a piece of a beautiful dream that lasted over 40 years. We, too, meet in the shadows.

I heard this song for the first time a couple of months ago, on one of those playlists that are created by those Spotify algorithms. I loved it immediately, the quiet sadness in the voice and the melancholic lyrics. Also loved the mix of the cello with electronic beats. I understood it was about loss and remembrance. I remembered my dad. Thank you.

listened dozens of times for the lyrics and the instruments coz of the TED talk, that I did not expect there was going to be a music video for this piece.. peacefully heartbreaking, soul-touching voices ( cello & Hrishi's )and music. Thank you Hrishi and blessings to the ones helped making this ART from what's passed but revisited the present, also those having all attention appreciating any part of this MV.

I’m blessed to get to know you through yo yo ma insta, and you just made me see my two sons in your place when I m gone. My eldest called me immediately crying and probably feeling the same situation. Sons being away for so many years and meeting only on holidays a year. Your song reminds us of really getting the urge to reconnect when our life has become full of different noises. Thank you so much for sharing your loss and the beauty of your voice, music and the graphics. God bless you 🙏🙏
