Romantic performance of this romantic masterpiece. The scintillating high tone of solo piano sounds really charming. Awesome pianist!

You know a pianist is in the upper echelon when even their dramatic pauses are virtuosic. Piemontesi is a poet.

I have come to like Liszt's Second Concerto as much as his First, and this performance is a fine realization of it.

Wow! My favorite Liszt interpreter always was Matsuev until I found this one. Now Piemontesi shows me new ways of listening to this masterpiece. Superb!

Glad to see the 2nd receiving more notice. For me,it is a better attention holder than the 1st. Really appreciated the pianist's total commitment. Bravo!

Also, I’m impressed at the lightning fast reflexes of the violinist who picks up Janowski’s spectacles at 21:30. That shows the respect he must have from his players!

Never heard a better Liszt pc 2 - nor for that matter a better K 503 (Mozart pc 25 on a new CD, not the performance on KZbin). These both performances are even better than Brendel's own (Piemontesi's tutor)

He plays this concerto well, and has a great orchestra to make this an excellent performance. But I wonder why he takes on playing the work as it appears to cause him great pain. And he attacks the piano as if it is an adversary that needs to be tamed, unlike Miss Wang whom in her performances, caresses the piano, as a loving and loved collaborator in producing the music - a pity she has no performance of this work on KZbin, I'm not suggesting it would be musically superior to the performance here, but it would be better in that she enjoys sharing her journey with the piano.with us.
