Most informative - thank you. Unlike those who chose to add (often quite-enjoyable) music to their video postings, I actually appreciate your "silent flight" across the changing landscape. Good to see the "Berkswell flyover" beginning to take shape, just before your turn-around at 6:15 - clearly the whole route is now starting to emerged from the decades of planning, surveying and revisions. Amazing to think that I walked under the old bridge at 8:37 in 1979, only a short while after the old railway line had been lifted. Lovely closing shot, by the way - showing that there are still plenty of trees in leafy Warwickshire (before the HS2 planting gets under way in a while...). Nicely done.

Looking at thr west coast mainline at minute 5.45 and the tiny footprint it takes how do HS2 justify the what must be 500m wide or more footprint of the new railway immediately infront of it. Two 6ft ways dont need that much space, this is some designers w!! dream.

They say: Rome was not built in a day. This is one of a kind project at a massive scale, sure to last forever. I would focus on the South side. Get the trains running. Then worry about the North side. England can be proud of what they are achieved. Go down in history. Let the world follow. Best of luck with finishing the railway. God save your 👑 KING.

"last forever"? .. its got a projected lifespan of 120 years & will NEVER be carbon neutral over that period & that's according to HS2 Ltd's own forecasts. It's overall construction & operation will cause carbon emissions of 1.49 tonnes of carbon dioxide equivalent. It's nothing more than an environmental disaster of epic proportions & Britain's biggest infrastructure mistake in half a century.

Nice to know that the levelling up cash has gone to the south. 32 miles of tunnels and vanity bridges are the reason why HS2 is so over budget. HS2 is only half a job now. The 20 million in the North have been ignored again

Yup, non of these tunnels were costed in, I was a project manager at the outset and one of the big problems is that the available budget was advertised to suppliers, contractors, hammers that were £10 became £500 overnight, pure greed at the taxpayers expense and very little government oversight ...

Blame the conservative government and not HS2 Ltd. The poor company has been literally ruined by a party that doesn't even know what it's doing, another example of Tory mismanagement and lack of any future planning/ foresight.

I anticipate that the tunnel at Burton Green will be the most expensive on the HS2 route. Why? Because the location of houses, next to the old railway cutting that HS2 has purloined, provides the residents with an opportunity to hold HS2 to account over every perceived deficiency, be it a crack, the falling off a pedestal of a priceless Ming vase, the breaking of crystal glass in a cabinet or the mysterious split that opened up in the newly relayed drive, that the owner may see fit to declare. Never in our history of civil engineering has the interests of a government led project been so controlled by the day to day concerns of its citizens. Never has the necessity been so great for the government to protect its interests in the face of public scrutiny
