this system is massively flawed , it's just comparing oranges and apples together. In other countries entry exams are run at different times of the year providing more flexibility to students and the exam are based on the university's own requirements.

considering they have to mark as objectively as they can, this is as good as you can get. Not to mention the nuances in their systems to further judge you.

So you know how you mentioned that they maintain the gap between the 2nd and 3rd person, does that mean that your HSC marks are simply based on ranks? Because then wouldn't it be unfair to the person who came 3rd but still managed to get a higher HSC mark?

Yes it is unfair

keep in mind that the internals (rankings) only make up 50% of the end result, and that there are further nuances.

Also say if there is =1 (which means there is noone ranked 2nd) and you came say 3rd, does that mean you get the 2nd top mark or the 3rd top mark?

So is the 95 in sudoku that Chelsea got her aligned mark for the sudoku exam or her raw score test mark?

I'm confused with one thing. How can a guy who demonstrates "Band 6 level" manage to even get 70 in the first place? By the fact that he's on a band 6 level by "extensively demonstrating blah blah" that would mean he's already a 90, without alignment. Isn't he?

You really didn't listen huh... He said that if a student who got a 70 met the requirements of "Band 6" more than that of other Bands, then that person will get aligned accordingly. This can happen due to "harder" tests etc.
