Those HSD jets are amazing! I am so glad that you were able to share this amazing plane. I can only dream of buying one of these. Keep up the great work, and nice flying.

If you have flown the F86 without tanks, did you notice a difference?? tks
@DarrenRC7621 күн бұрын
@@shelleibach20 you know I’ve had this jet two years and only for the first time earlier this year did I take the tanks off!! It’s a completely different beast, much quicker and less ‘draggy’ turns better and overall flys better without them. I do miss the look of them though.

@@DarrenRC76 Ya I like the look too.....I only have 5 flights on mine without tanks and wanted to give it a shot with them on. Just going to have to remember to keep my speed up and then decide if its worth giving up the look.....tks for the info

How does it fly with tanks? Not too tail heavy or whatever???
@DarrenRC762 жыл бұрын
I’ve never flown it with out them. I prefer the look of it with the tanks. Also with the narrow gear stance it helps avoid wing scrapes too.

How does this compare to the F-16 I had the F-16 camo until the landing gear collapsed not sure what happened their 10 flights on it. Thinking about getting this one but not sure our runway is not great would want the landing gear to collapse again
@DarrenRC763 жыл бұрын
It flies lighter than the HSD F16 and I would definitely say the gear is stronger and more suitable for rough terrain than the F16. I like them both for different reason but if I had to pick only one I’d go for the F86

@@DarrenRC76 thank you for the response I was on the fence about this one due to my f-16 experience. Hopefully I’ll be buying one next weekend thanks again

I'm afraid to say the nose gear mounting is pitifully weak. The nose gear is simply glued into a small shallow 45x100mm pocket in the 30mm of foam to the lower duct wall, no hard point at all. Good news is it very easy to make a mounting plate but why HSD omitted making one in the first place is a mystery.

@@JRJetMan I just purchased one Friday I will see Wednesday. The good thing is the front landing gear and the front of the plane comes as one piece so we might me able to just buy that part if the gear fails.

How was the build? After building and flying do you think it was worth the $$ it cost. I love the F-86 but that's a lot of $$ for foam.
@DarrenRC762 жыл бұрын
Hi. The build was easy and was straightforward. Yes I definitely think it was worth it. It’s a lovely flyer with great presence because of its size. People get hung up because it’s foam or expensive for foam. If this was balsa it would be about the same cost but empty of components. If this was composite it would be double the cost or more and still empty!! My black horse eurofighter was £800 empty and has taken hours and hours to build and many more ££ to finish with a reasonable but not expensive setup. The HSD F86 was built in less than an hour and flight ready. It has a decent 120mm edf and HV servos throughout.
