So, one important note - the custom Hsienmo are *not* handcrafted guitars. What they are is the Taylor type approach, where CNC machines are heavily used where they are strongest, to produce extremely precise components out of very high quality woods, and then considerable manual attention is placed to fitting, these, and tuning the soundboard to produce a near boutique level guitar.
@lefthandpath15873 ай бұрын
Having said that, the reality is that the materials used are as good or better than Taylor, and the fit feel and sound is spectacular. I have a Hsienmo LingLong 38" guitar - sinker redwood and cocobolo back and sides, ebony everywhere else. Its basically modeled on the Lowden F-35. I've played the F-35 - the Hsienmo equals it for fit, feel and resonance - for about 20% of the cost.
@lefthandpath15873 ай бұрын
Finally - Hsinemo isn't a threat to true handcrafted, boutique shops, like @DriftwoodGuitars ( folks who can afford a Driftwood guitar, which is essentially the height of playable artwork - aren't price conscious). But Martin / Taylor / Gibson - they should be worried. The fanboys are aging rapidly, and younger folks want value, not bragging rights

Sounds very fundamenta and warm over my AKG headphonrsl.I like it .The highs sound smooth with good sustain, for my taste they could be a bit fuller. But maybe it is the slightly boomy, warm sounds and the droning sustain of deeper frequencies which overlay the highs? Al in all it is a Open and Not to tight sounding guitar.

The Hsienmo quality and pricing is so good, moderators at USA Acoustic Guitar forums seem intimidated. Some threads vanish, maybe because sponsors are nervous. No hump, but a floating fingerboard with carbon inserts in the neck that is easily adjustable - there is zero chance this guitar will ever have a hump, or for that matter, need a neck reset.

Perhaps the AGF and Martin forum do not like to promote companies that are stealing designs and ideas from others. They are not "inspired"by, but are 100% copies, stolen ideas is not inspired. They have completely stolen Casimi and McPherson designs, bracing, bridges etc. among others. They have/had a video where they bought 2 McPhersons, cut one in half and then completely copied the bracing patterns, heights, thickness etc. calling it research. They then A/B the two to show how exact their copy is. People need to look at the company and if you don't care that they are stealing from others, not modifying anything, completely copying and then under cutting their price, you go for it.
@Billionairelee02203 ай бұрын
Everything has a process, and this phenomenon of deconstruction and learning from others is quite common across different industries. There are even brands that have never seen an actual Martin guitar but started replicating based solely on shared blueprints. With the Shiyi model, we can see many distinct changes in the neck, soundhole ring, and bridge. As for the MCP's internal structure, its patent has already expired. The MCP neck cannot be adjusted, whereas Hsienmo started by following the original MCP design but later modified the neck to be adjustable. This shows that they are not just copying blindly but are making further optimizations, taking into account the real-world issues faced by players.
