Nailed it! Intimacy is far more important than sexual intercourse. As an HSP man, the desperate desire for true meaningful intimacy is often confused with sexual desire. There comes a time when sex becomes empty.

I hope that with more men speaking up about their journey this will continue to change in the right direction. In my relationships I've often coaxed the men into embracing their more intimate side without jumping straight to sex. They're always grateful to have opened their eyes to that new layer of human connection. 💖

this literally just helped me understand my sexual relationship with my wife. Why initiating sex is so difficult...why it's hard for me to get into sex if she's not into it; I can read it in her face, and I instantly am no longer in the mood. when you explained how effing cosmic an orgasm is. "spiritual transcendence" and "reaching new depths of existence", crying because of the intensity of emotion...I 100% vibe with that.

Thank you for posting this Shannon. I hope many more find their way to this video. To me, practically everything feels like there needs to be meaning and connection; sex is no exception. It feels like sex has become just another activity instead of being one of the most intimate and fulfilling things we can share with another person. This piece is pretty much spot on with noise or distractions, aka mood killers. As a male HSP many things have to be played close to the vest, so I completely agree that talking with a partner openly is best. That’s the first step to feeling safe. Again, thank you for posting this. It was very nicely done.

It always amazes me how many people make a casual thing out of sex, I used to wish that I could be like that because of my fear of getting hurt. but now I focus more on being grateful that I get to experience it so deeply instead 😌
