HSP & SPD in the Unschooling Community

Up until last year, I thought of myself as an HSP with SPD. Some very kind neurokin brought to my attention that these terms were describing Autism. This might be hard to hear. I'm not saying these books aren't useful, that these experiences aren't real, but I am saying that bias and misinformation abound in the #unschooling community, especially around neurodivergence.
Sensory processing needs and extreme sensitivity are Autistic traits. I feel that there are a great deal of unrecognized, unsupported Neurodivergent families in the #unschooling. community. I too dislike labels but finding the #actuallyautistic community has absolutely changed my life and made me a better parent and Unschooler.
