"HST Farewell Tour" on the Swanage railway 26/09/23

Was a great day watching the HST on the Swanage railway . I had my planned day at various locations which all went wrong after the first pass with slow traffic and not being able to park in the locations but still managed to grab the train in a couple of places . As usual the weather was not that great with high winds ,but still a fun day meeting old and new friends along the way.

Imagine if they ever kept a Valenta Paxman class 43 hst trains that would have been even better on a heritage railway

Although not my all time favourites HSTs are some of the most important rail vehicles and have really stood the test of time. I will miss them still very nice to see it at Swanage just a shame I couldn't be there. great footage as always 😃

All stunning views, and well filmed!! Almost makes me want to set the still camera up on the tripod, shoot video like you, and hit a remote release for the camera at just the right moment!! Anyway, was really nice to meet you. Lee

Several HSTs are now in Mexico having a new lease of life…. A lot are in storage and 13 had gone to Sims as scrap And are completely gone some 30 have been saved by collectors !! 50 are in storage

Hi Jamie, great shots, you certainly move about quickly ! I saw the HST at Swanage next to the immaculately restored steam loco 563, and “Manston”, what a great contrast they made 😊

So this video Jamie is straight off the press as they say, great coverage on the Swanage Railway and I see there was still a fair amount of people at Wareham the second time from Swanage. It was nice to see the shot I missed, and I see you played safe not going west of Wareham due to traffic problems. It was great to seeing you today mate, just a shame the planning got cocked up due to situations out of our control. Regards Mike.
