There are still MK3 slamming doors on the Kidderminster Severn Valley Railway. I've been past it and saw the slamming doors on the coaches. All coaches were in different liveries

In the 1970s in Copenhagen, the Intercity trains really did have *slam* doors. The sound, amplified by the acoustics in the covered station, was deafening! KABOOM! 😄

@@BoomTrainspots Of course. I said what I did because whilst Scotrail (I think) and Cross Country still have full-length HSTs on the mainlines, they don't have the slam-doors. The slam doors were what made EMR's sets unique for that period of time between LNER's retiring and the withdrawal from the Midland Main Line

I think the slam doors should've been replaced with Irish-style plug doors. There's a reason why most high speed trains use plug doors, you know.
