HT-02 Thermal Imaging Camera Unboxing & Review

Today I’m going to be unboxing and reviewing the HT-02 Thermal Imaging Camera, which Banggood have sent me to share with you. It's an entry-level thermal camera with a 60x60 infrared sensor and it's got a measurement range of -20°C to 300°C. It also offers a series of thermal image blending options with the visual camera and has 5 colour palettes to choose from. It's a great hobbyist camera for someone who's interested in getting started with thermal imaging but doesn't have the budget to spend a few thousand dollars on a brand name camera.

It is about time for thermal cameras to become much cheaper then they are. So I like this product, and I hope that it brings the prices of the competition down as well.

They are ridiculously expensive for what they are. I think its a combination of the infrared sensors and lenses being quite expensive to make and that they're still not really a consumer level product, so sales volumes are really low.

Is it possible to get the thermal image of mices inside boxes? I got some boxes on a storage but it very hard to hunt those mices

Thermal imaging can't really see through cardboard. Paper and cardboard are good thermal insulators so unless there is something very hot in the boxes you won't see them.

How did you pull out the USD slot so easily? I'm having trouble taking it off, I removed the silver sticker, Is that a problem?

What is the distance capability? for example if I put it against a wall where there is a water pipe buried in the wall, what is the distance it can measure and show? Thanks

This doesn't "see through walls", if you put it against the wall it'll show you the surface temperature of the wall. The only way you can tell where the pipes are in the wall is if the pipes are causing a temperature difference on the surface of the wall.

@@MichaelKlements Thanks for the reply. yes if we use hot water in the pipe, how much can it detect temperature as a depth? say for example up to 1 meter beneath a wall/surface? or more? thanks

It depends on what the wall is made from, it'll only detect the pipe if the surface of the wall heats up when the pipe heats up. There is no way for this to see into the wall, it only looks at the surface of the wall

You can't change the alignment of the cameras unfortunately. This is a feature that I suggested that they add to the device.
