Honestly love how parasite takes humans vs animals in terms of how we act vs how they act. A lot of anime I feel try to hit the point but miss it by pulling less attention to it or the animal is a complete hypocrite destroying the point

A slight correction is that Ryoko's host didn't have that child. She (the parasyte) made the baby with another parasyte and that was the whole research for her: would a child conceived by two parasytes - but in human bodies - become a parasyte themself or would it at least get some manner of power/ability from its donors/parents. The interesting thing there means that Ryoko-parasyte developed feelings on its own for its child and this is obviously not a natural thing for this creature as she had to spend time considering Shinichi's familial relationship too (over the seasons and through looking at his mother's baby photos on their family computer) to put a true name or connection to how she was feeling about the infant. It would have been nice if they could have leaned more into this with Ryoko or someone else like her in the series and/or had joined the Shinichi/Migi team, but it did a good job showing that parasytes are able to and do eventually continue to evolve and develop like the end of the series shows.

But, Shinichi did not tell her to meet him at the abandoned building, she chose to go there on her own after leaving her cell home, claiming (to herself this time) that she could differentiate his ‘signal’ from the others and chasing after a random parasite signal. Worse yet, they were first gonna meet at a very public train station and then, after sensing other parasytes in the area, he told her they should change their meeting place-he was unable to set a new one ‘cause she left her phone.

Shinichi didn't really tell her to go to the building. She had a "feeling" he'd be there and he ran to the parasite Migi sensed. Also, he doesn't "like" her. He mainly just trusted her because she was already on to him and he didn't want her to do anything crazy... which she did anyway.

I love this show. Really makes you feel…humble about often overlooked, and even downright undesirable aspects of the human experience/condition. Compassion and apathy, love and hate, euphoria and melancholy, emotions I feel like I have a different appreciation for walking away from this series. Ngl Ryoko getting killed made me cry, the previous deaths wore me down 😅🥹

Something you forgot to mention about the girls Shinichi likes - they actually have the ability to sense the parasytes from the humans. The girl with long black hair (Kana) had the stronger ability to know who was an alien and where they were while the girl with short brown hair (Satomi) could only a get a slight feeling if someone was an alien.

Just correcting, the 1st girl has a somee sort of "intuitive" ability, she can sense the Alien, she felt it like as "something" different from normal human being and attracted to Shinichi since he has Migi. Shinichi and Migi acknowledge this, and in order to save her from the worst scenario which her stump upon a dangerous alien (which she also did), shinichi ask her to meet up in order to WARNING her about the alien race,, that was what lead to her death.

The idea of getting the parasites to work together with humans is insane at best. Yes the parasites are intelligent, but they give very much machine intelligence. They follow their directive and make adjustments only when it is in their favor but not in conflict with the prime directive which may or not be: "kill and devour humans".

I doubt it as migi only replaced his arm and heart as well as blood stream not his core dna. It's like a heart transplant blood transfusion or arm surgery I mean look at ryouko tamura for example. She took the brain and had a kid with another parasite and the baby was completely fine with no defects or something because her head was the only thing affected. At best the kid will be more fit being the son of a superhuman but even that I doubt.

maybe semantics, but the parasytes don't take over the brain, they eat it completely then interface with the body as the new operating system. With that said maybe there is memory in the remaining nerve endings, or maybe by eating the brain they receive some intrinsic behaviors. But we all know what the anime is getting at here.

...Why's the FBI in Japan? Also, I seem to recall that dog-parasite being willing to have a scrap in public back in episode 1, so attacking in daylight isn't something new for these guys. They don't seem more organised than us, and if they are caught, they tend to do anything to save themselves, even if it blows their cover to do so. I think it's less of an invasion and more of an invasive species that, by the end of the story, has found the desired equilibrium with the ecosystem.

You got the thing between Shinichi and Kana totally wrong. She wasn't his crush, he was hers, but unilaterally. Shinichi didn't like Kana (at least not romantically, as he was already in love with Satomi). Kana was actually trying to steal Shinichi's affection, but he was having none of it (altough Satomi somewhat believed he was). Kana was able to sense the presence of aliens, but not to tell them apart. She believed she could only sense Shinichi's presence and that was a "spiritual bond" between them, which clearly wasn't the case. He tried to protect her from the likely consequences of her carelessness and delusions, but he only did that out of basic human decency, not because he wanted her to be his gf. Her "date" was meant to be a reveal. Shinichi would tell her the truth about parasites and what her sensing actually was. Shinichi didn't invite her to the warehouse, she went there because she "sensed" his presence there. Shinichi actually tried to get there, but she was early to their "date" and decided to follow her senses to find him, actually diverting from the expected place of meeting. Shinichi was not to blame AT ALL for Kana's demise, and neither was she, because there was no way she would have known what her "sensing" was. It was just bad fortune.
