I had a neighbor who didn't turn the heat on on his house in winter. It's Texas, so it gets cold, but it doesn't really get cold. He died in like December, and no one knew until like April when the smell became unbearable, and we called the cops. If he'd have been a plant, no one would have known until the bank came to reclaim the house.

And for those unaware in his last years he saw the error of his ways and renounced all his racism. In fact the very reason Conan the Barbarian shares so much lore with the Lovecraft mythose is because of his friendship with Robert E Howard. I even heard he had a strong since of humor, hell the Azathoth lineage was even a joke of his. He rejected the concept of a traditional pantheon of gods but when pressed on the matter he wrote down a bunch of gibberish and said "here you go," and now ironically people make hour long lore videos to explain this exact gibberish.

It’s sad how Kimi accidentally caused misunderstandings early on. The immigrants distrust the old people because the old people give them gifts of expired food, except this food isn’t actually expired, it’s marked as probably expiring in the future of the year the housing complex is trapped in but is several years in the past for the immigrants. You’d be disgusted if your new neighbors gave you gifts of sweets and fish that expired in 2000 if you thought the year was 2020. Then the fishmen realize Kimi is the god they’re trying to petition to bring back Kuzululu/Cthulhu so they leave sacrifices on her doorstep like good little petitioners and Yuri’s family misinterpret this as them saying Kimi is the super special sacrifice needed to sway the god they’re trying to petition. Then there’s the fact that this is the second time this series of events has played out if the beginning of the series is any indication, we see a crazed boulder shoulder guy attacking Kimi and Yuri before his face is illuminated in rainbow light and things get reset, so the previous loop things went even worse with the immigrants and this time Kimi was trying to make an effort to smooth over relations between the elderly residents and the immigrants. And most likely Creepy Kid knew about Kimi and the reason he was a shut in was well you’d probably be a shut-in if you were the only one in your building that knew it was actually the year 2020 when it’s the year 2000 in the complex. He probably only left at night on the assumption that Kimi, being a 10 year old girl, is going to be heading off to eldritch abomination dream land at 8-9pm like every other 10 year old so he doesn’t have to worry about her finding out he’s desperately trying to figure out how to free them. He’s probably also the owner of the anime girl fan we see that’s copyrighted at 2011, most likely an attempt to show his mom and the others that they’re trapped in a time warp.

Actually kimi has stated this has actually happened over 20 different times, this started back in 2000 yet in the outside world its dated to be 2020. This means people from the outside have destroyed her safe village on 20 different occasions and she has tried everything possible. Not to mention she has lived for over 20,000 plus years. kimi is a god who doesnt destroy out of pure joy or ignorance, Kimi wanted to give them chances to redeem themselves but because everyone constantly thought she was a god who craved destruction made her decide this loop was the finale loop and destruction was going to be that year. basically the anime was about a god who wanted to have peace and harmony but because people r selfish, greedy and destructive creatures (with execeptions of her TRUE followers) she decided she had enough

In my view Kimi is actually the one that caused all the problems and confusion. Everyone with the exception of Yuri's family was innocent! Kimi knew how things would end, but did little to nothing to sort things out and instead made everyone even more confused. But the worst part out of all of this is that she says that it's the humanity fault when in reality she was messing with everyone heads. I hate when animes like this can have a happy ending, but the story is so convoluted that everything goes wrong for stupid reasons.

Didn’t know what to expect with this video but I’m always a big fan of Lovecraftian media. Right at the start you got the Elder Sign, which in Lovecrafts works is a protective sigil that wards against otherworldly forces. The creatures seen by Kimi from atop the Complex are Deep Ones, essentially Fishmen who worship the Great Old Ones, like Cthulhu or Dagon, and are known for trading golden trinkets with humans in exchange for breeding with thier women to create hybrid offspring. Love how the various drawings left around by the creepy kid are all Lovecraftian creatures, I could see at least Star-Spawns Of Cthulhu and I think the Great Race Of Yith.

I do wish this had more episodes or a greater look into Kimi as a “person”. Viewers can put together pretty easily that Kimi has seen human suffering up until the year 2000 and started the timeloop. She’s done practically nothing to stop the loop seeing as each event is worse than the last and even then isn’t keeping a good job holding it up because modern day items can easily slip in (including a anime poster that obviously tipped the weird kid off to the time loop and what got him killed which has been the deciding factor in god knows how many loops). As far a god she doesn’t seem to be that old and looks at humanity as a smear- it would be nice to get a second season/part where she’s sees all the bad the world has done post-2001 and feels justified in her judgment but has to learn about the good that has been done as well and even if most humans are terrible the whole race doesn’t deserve to be wiped out or abandoned. Oh and that’s a another thing she essentially abandoned the rest of the world just to prove a point in a not well thought out plan. Seriously, if I a normal person in the normal day was given food from people in 2001 and it instantly goes bad I would also be very upset.

I think the fetus mom was the deity from the fish people. Kimi was judging wether they deserved their god back and Yuri's family failed the test for everyone, fish people and humans included. That's why she throws the water on Yuri and then steps over the fetus, turning it into moss. Taka said that the fish people were making human sacrifices to the sky god to get their deity back. As to why Kimi calls it "mom", I think Taka thought at first that the fish god made the sky god, but I can't recall that one very well. Maybe Kimi was just trying to conceal her little experiment. I really liked this anime, I kept thinking of little moments that give the plot twist away, like Yuri's phone having a gacha rhythm game in it during her introduction scene. The last scene with Kimi singing gave me chills.

So I hate to be that guy but.... Well carbon dating is for organic material like wood* and long dead organisms like bodies or anything up to 50,000 years. After that there is not more n Carbon-14 carbon-12 Or nitrogen... They have to use special techniques to determine older things like rocks. I'm not educated in this field at all but I know that much. I was about to comment the same! C14 is only a datation for organic matter. Rock can be dated if datable organic artifacts are in the same floor layer as it. The hypothesis here is that objects from a same floor layer are all older than the most recent object of the layer and younger than the oldest object of the layer. But this is not an absolute datation method, meaning that the rock itself wasn't dated but rather that the layer was dated. Meaning that the rock artficat can be dated to be between the upper datation and lower datation of the layer. (Also we are talking about when the rock was altered by human, not when it was formed). Additionally, absolute datation method for rock exist (meaning being able to date the rock artifacts itself). For example, if the rock was "cooked " /heated, it is called thermoluminescence dating and it can be used for anything containing rock (pottery, bricks, fire pits etc). If u are interested about the subject, Wikipedia provide a sufficient explanation for a non specialist.

Should be how to beat the GOD because there is only one in the anime. Sure another one is mentioned but its been long dead and is trying to be revived with the favor of the one that is hiding in plain sight. And to do it, it pretty much boils down to being nice and getting along. All the God wanted was for the people to get along and be friends, but humans being humans no matter the time period decided to do what humans do and make her lose faith in them. The God also didn't kill everyone else on the island, simply removed the time loop so the area is in the time it should be. But since the occupants are all dead between murder family and Kimi deciding enough was enough the complex is now an abandoned building. It is left up to the viewer to decide if the incoming tsunami is Kimi washing away the evidence of her failed attempt. There is indication she's just going to remake the area though not sure if she's going to try again and hope humans actually can learn this time to play nice.
