One minor thing that makes the HTC 10's software look so much better is the beautiful font usage. No crappy Samsung / LG typefacing or their horrible sizing and balance. I mean, just LOOK at the lockscreen! "PORTLAND" in bold and caps, underscoring the beautiful italic clock type and the usage of iconography. Sure, it may be petty, but it's the reason why stock Android and iOS looks that good. It's the polish and typefacing.

The double tap to wake feature only works if the phone sense movement. So if it's flat on a table and you double take it won't wake up.

the tapping shortcuts work afterrrrrrrr the phone has been picked up,, meaning the phone has moved or turned up verticallyy. they do work, very well.

I came to the HTC 10 from a LG G2. HTC's slimmed down Sense UI is good but I already miss a number of the features that LG phones have had since 2013, like a button to bring down the notification tray, and the ability to customize said notification tray

Hey Kellex. Can you tell us how you're finding the 200GB Sandisk card with the HTC 10? Have you tried it in Adoptable Storage? Any slowdown with the microSD? Any issues with 4K video recording, burst shots, gaming? I'm planning on doing exactly what you've done and I'm in between going for the 200GB Sandisk Ultra or the 128GB Samsung Pro+. So if you could tell us how the card performs in the HTC 10 (with or without Adoptable Storage) it'll be much appreciated :)

I agree! They made a no BS type of flagship, and I hope they get rewarded for that. The only problem i have with HTC is they ALWAYS overprice their devices. The great Nexus 6P is a "no gimmick" beast that started at $499 USD. And the HTC 10 is also a "no gimmick" beast, but it costs $699 USD. If they would at least attempt to get their prices correct for a change they may finally hit that home run that they desperately need.

the thing with these quick things like waking the phone with the fingerprint sensor. is that when I have my phone in my pocket and I go cycling to school it opens itself. one time I supposivly tried to enter my phone 37 times and had to wait a minute. all because of it waking in my pocket. so I put that option off.

Is that sandisk 200 GB fast enough for write when you take 4k video? I really want to put the biggest card I can in there, but I'm afraid the sandisk ultra just isn't writing fast enough. If I get the samsung pro+ it'd probably be 4 times faster, but it's a whole lot smaller. Please advise, since you have both the sandisk and the htc 10:) Thanks

Yes,in this way you have more space on the phone,and more performance out of the apps that matter.Also you can pop out thSD and transfer it to another phone and have access to them imediately

When you see all nine apps in one window and you just pick any with just ONE touch of a finger, it is so much better people! And can you switch back to on-screen buttons? I love on screen buttons! Complaints: 1. Quick settings cannot be rearrange. (Holding the gear icon doesn't work on 6.0.1) 2. Via USB, the internal storage doesn't include music or photo file making it impossible to practically copy and paste from media from PC to phone 3. HTC sync manager still doesn't recognize the device when plugged in(it's been about 4 years) C'mon HTC fix your program

Hard drive is more reliable then the cloud? LOL Yes because hard drives don't have a high failure rate at all (rolls eyes). I think what Javen was saying is. Save them to Drive from your phone. Then access Drive from the computer, and save them to your hard drive that way. No cables needed. Very easy.

It is stupid to say which one is better because these are flagship devices. Htc 10 has better speakers especially while listening music on headphones, has better build quality, better optical image stabilization while s7 has better screen, a little bit better picture quallity, and exinos version is faster. Battery is perfect on both devices. I prefer 10 but both are great.

the HTC 10 reminds me of the screen I'm using on the LG g4... like it would be really dim in any kind of daylight. and because of the small 3000mah battery I can't believe that it will have better battery life then my g4... sooo I went with the s7 edge with its super bright amoled screen and 3600 mah battery :)

+Aaron Manning if the displays are powered on, then fine. i'd argue the difference is when the screens are powered off. how it manages deep sleep or idle or any of the weird modes they have. power management can be different, even with the same screens, though. the m9 has a snapdragon 810. it gets hot. the phone has to worry about throttling and using different processors (the fast one or the slow one) and blah blah, not so mention power drain caused by getting things too the display, and how each phone might differ. if you're going to just assume because the screens are really similar that they must get the same battery life or power management results, then you should really look into how technology works other than just the parts we see.

i was able to use google now voice and google cards on my s7 without, not sure how, that is it automatically reconized my old phone and downlaoded everything..right down to the cards........i deleted the launcher but it kept my google cards and everything. Darkweaver Google Now is just the Google app now. It comes preloaded on this phone. Mine is the Verizon one, and it already had the widget installed on the home screen even. You can use both Blinkfeed, and Now together. You don't have to choose. I use both.

It's pretty good not going to lie, but it's not the best that a phone can offer there are better out there. The phone for me is wonderful though and it takes clear HD pics and that's all I need because I am a simple person with simple needs. Do a little more research though if you are looking in to buying this.

From my experience formatting the card s internal storage still just leaves you with an internal size and external size. Made the whole thing seem rather pointless.

go on power saving mode. believe me is not as bad as people make it seen. phone runs as smooth just put the brightness up more than in regular mode

You can download the gallery app for it. I have it on my HTC 10. It has the option to show/hide albums in the menu I just checked on my HTC 10. There's a link to the app on XDA. Has to be sideloaded, but works fine.
