Frank Wong also lost carriers in the U.K. I always used Vodafone but no more htc with them not even the desire and then that's why htc lost me as a customer loved my htc m8 but to be honest not loving the size and design esp losing the jack plug.

I am wondering if you can activate.. (squeeze) the flashlight from locked screen in your pocket as you retrieve it, that would be super handy in the aid of unlocking the garage door or out camping etc ?

carl Martin form what I've seen, it has to be out of the pocket to activate the squeeze.

carl Martin I've had the phone for a few days and it would be tricky to do it in your pocket but you can squeeze it as you pull the phone out of your pocket. I have it set to open camera on short squeeze and to turn the flashlight on with a long squeeze. Works great.

carl Martin there are also some phones that have convenience button (alcatel,blackberry,huawei,the s8 maybe....) which you can configure to activate flashlight when pressed shortly or longly

I would love to see a color reproduction test with all of these 4 flagships next to each other showing full colored images. Curious to see which LCD is best at blacks and how does the Amoled from Samsung handle reds, because from my experience amoled shows red more on the 'orange' side, especially when seen next to a high quality LCD screen.

If they hadn't removed the headphone jack I'd buy it right now. Absolutely beautiful design, I do enjoy the glass back but why oh why would they follow the failure of the iPhone 7?

Garrett wel atleast the headphones (usonic) included scan your ear to fine tune the sounds.....so it takes advantage of the usb type-c to send and receive information and so is smart unlike the traditional ones.....and complements the loss of the traditional headphone jack a little bit.......

Erica, HTC has always had special deals with Sprint where only Sprint Carry's their biggest flagship. I remember when I got my Evo 4g and Evo 3D and it was only through Sprint and that was back in 2010. So nothing new there. I know you'll say it sucks either way but Sprint isn't a bad carrier. At the least I've never had an issue with them and having good fast coverage.

Glass backs is an elaborate plan by manufacturers to get people upgrading more regularly cuz the these things are unforgivably fragile and the chances of them surviving longer than a year are pretty slim.

Dear Erica, Have you tried those usb c audio adapters that allow you to charge the phone while using earbuds with a 3.5mm plug? In any case, how is the sound with or without buds?

mostleedead yes ...........and also plz review call quality and signal and if the cameras (front and back) are good at normal and low-light shooting.......also if it has a volume zoom feature and if it feels and is better the 10 and what can edge sense do ans if it is actually usefull........oh and how often you have to clear the glass back and if it is better with its bezels than bezel-less phones...........and if it has issues and if htc sense ui is still good...........

(or maybe even better?) b. Please make a comparison between the HTC U11 brightness level (in doors and out doors direct sunlight) and the competitors brightness levels. c. How is the battery life? How much screen on time and idle time do you get on a single charge? That's one whacky design, I don't mind that though, the vibrant colors are really refreshing, while you can still get a white or a black one if you're not into that, and I like that curved glass on the front. I'm just sad about the fact that glass backs are insanely impractical.

The speaker test you did is interesting. I played the same video on my HTC 10 and there is no mix up going on in either setting. The left and right channel are completely separate in both Music and Theatre mode. I wonder why would HTC change this, did they consider it an improvement?!

Why would HTC make the glass curve over the edge like that on all sides. It's not like it's a curved display and they have bent it so far that it seems totally exposed to a drop on the edge hitting just straight glass. Which can't end well.
