Fantastic review! I own a Quest 2 and LOVING it so far! VR is just great at this point.

Thank you for the support! Glad you enjoyed it! VR is amazing, I don't know how I'm going to get any videos done for my channel anymore because all I want to do is play BeatSaber haha! The Quest 2 is absolutely crazy for its price. I'll be doing a follow-up video using it tethered very very soon!

Those red lasers in the eyes though! I remember getting a headache within about 5m using it. My how technology has changed!

Nice videos, thanks. I’m a VR dev and have many of the major HMDs except for the VPro2 & HP devices. Index is my daily driver & dev device and Q2 is mainly for testing + some family gaming. It’s nice to have options for different consumers, etc. Thanks for your good coverage of VR. HL:Alyx is 🔥, enjoy!

I would like to watch a video, in which you compare the Vive Pro 2 with the HP Reverb G2.

Nice video dude..you are right about the vive pro 2 being targeted at the enterprise/enthusiast market, HTC seem to be investing more in that space than for consumers..quest 2 on the other hand is all about reaching mainstream adoption and anyone wanting to dip thier toes into VR should go that route, providing they dont mind having a fb account. One thing you didnt mention is that you can hook up the quest to the PC and play all steam VR content ( both wired and wireless)

That's a good point. The video was getting a little long so I'll do a follow-up video later on. The tethered experience is pretty decent with the Oculus Quest 2, but I still prefered the Vive Pro 2. I think a lot of users with ultra high-end PCs may prefer a Vive or an Index, but the Oculus Quest 2 is insane value. The Vive Pro 2 has a wireless adapter for another $450 CAD, but I don't think I'll be doing that anytime soon.

@@UnhingedSystems The biggest appeal of the Quest 2 at this point is the non-tethered PCVR experience you can get with the quest outside of the box. Just think about the fact that in order to make the vive wireless, it costs more than the entire Quest 2 headset that does so much more.

@@LARVideos The Quest 2 is an absolutely amazing deal out of box. Facebook being able to subsidize it through their other revenue sources is OP.

I'll do a follow video soon! Honestly the Quest 2 lenses are WAY better. The god-rays on the Vive Pro 2 are getting annoying.

@@UnhingedSystems the god rays are annoying on the Index too
@midnightrocker72 жыл бұрын
is the glare of the lenses the same on the Vive Pro 2 or is it a little better or worse than the Index?
@UnhingedSystems2 жыл бұрын
I'd say it's about the same. It's tolerable. 5K looks amazing.

@@UnhingedSystems I just bought the Vive Pro 2, I hope it's better than the G2, I don't care for the fov in the G2, it's too small and the Windows Mixed Reality software is not that good, the resolution in the G2 is great, but everything else is not so good, I want something with a good screen resolution and a bigger and decent fov

Why wouldn´t you play Half-life: Alyx on the Quest 2? Works great via Air LInk
@UnhingedSystems3 жыл бұрын
If I have a higher performance headset I would choose that for a game like Alyx. I have been playing tethered on the Quest 2 as well for comparison and it is still a great experience! Fun fact: I went straight to Half-Life Alyx for my first foray into VR and got violently ill after playing for about 20-30m. Didn't have my VR legs yet 😳

I will pay more to avoid Facebook. Oculus is not a better value when you are selling your personal data to private corporation that who knows what is doing with your data besides just ads
@UnhingedSystems3 жыл бұрын
It's a hard toss-up. On one hand, I don't use the Facebook app, on the other hand I have a Google phone and I'm pretty sure they do the exact same thing with my data, Apple too. Time to go off grid? Nah, then I can't play my favorite games! 🤔🤷♂️

lmao the quest 2 is amazing until you try to get competitive at all. prepare to be owned by base station users and prepare to be absolutely raped by people with 3 or more 2.0 base stations. quest 2 is a kids toy. sure it does the job but you dont go to a restaurant ordering off the kids menu lmao trade that popcorn shrimp for lobster tail dog
@UnhingedSystems3 жыл бұрын
What games are you competitively playing right now? I'm going to do a follow-up with the Quest 2 tethered and wireless to see how the performance stacks up!
@stagrov80863 жыл бұрын
I own the HTC Vive Pro 2 with the Index controllers and basestations and the Oculus quest 2. In game like Population: one, Pavlov or Hyperdash, it isn´t really much different between the lighthouse tracking and the inside-out tracking. If you are good in a game, you are good with both trackings. If you suck, you suck with both ;-)

@@UnhingedSystems Onward, this is my baby. The Quest 2 version you can bang on but here goes the difference. I need a stock with the quest, with base stations im better without the stock. now let me get some index controller holders for my stock and wooow, the fight is fixed
@D-money8133 жыл бұрын
@@stagrov8086 ok, but do you have 2 2.0 base stations or 3+??? tracking is already improved with just two base stations and then is DRASTICALLY improved with 3 or more 2.0 base stations. I know what you're saying but note what im saying. you have a ceiling with the quest 2, period
