Negotiating is the right choice for Ukraine because if they keep fighting, it's just gonna mean more lives lost. Russia has really strong defenses set up in the captured areas that completely stopped the 2023 counter offensives, so getting all that territory back seems unlikely without a ton more casualties. Accepting some losses now could save lives and let Ukraine focus on rebuilding. Honestly, prioritizing peace at the cost of land rather than lives makes way more sense for Ukraine's future after the war.

Peace in Ukraine depends on recognition attempt to have Ukraine join NATO has failed and Ukraine will become neutral with land divided close to Minsk Accords plus Odessa.. Trump would be wise taking advice from Col. MacGregor to find real peace rather than from political doners.

Not only has Zelensky had the opportunity to end the conflict through Russia's offer's of peace talks from the outset but if he'd just accepted Russia's diplomatic efforts to have Ukraine stop their shelling and missile strikes on the population of the Donbass region Russia would likely never have launched their military intervention in Ukraine!

We shall see if Trump keeps his word to being both sides to the negotiating table in 48hrs when and if he becomes president. I personally doubt it as the donors in his country have too much invested in Ukraine. If most of eastern Ukraine is is part of Russia, that’s most of its industrial and agricultural land gone. So what’s left for Ukraine to self sustain itself? Ans: not much. Hence my point that those individuals who gambled on gaining fertile agricultural and industrial land won’t see any of it if it remains in Russia.

It will be so easy to do. Zelinsky has no choice but to compromise. Any deal that lets Ukraine keep Odessa is very good for Ukraine and generous bc without access to sea for trade they're done as a nation. They have plenty of farm land still. They don't control the rich mines in Donbass and oil in Crimea but they haven't in over a decade now.
