I strongly agree with you. I do believe that it is important for designers to understand the basics of HTML, and CSS. Thanks for this, I believe this is a good place for designers to start and they can proceed to go down the rabbit hole (if they do choose to) of web development. For any designer looking to create static sites or just want to try coding, I'll suggest after getting a good foundation of HTML and CSS, should give a good look at 11ty (or eleventy). Learn eleventy from scratch is a good place to start. For anyone looking to up their CSS (or just HTML with a good amount of focus on web accessibility) should give Kevin Powell on KZbin a look.
