If you're stuck migrating your images into Vis Code, this should help. Open them up in Explorer (inside Vis Code) and right-click on the link for the image. You'll see towards the bottom of the pop-up the option to map in via "copy path", click that. You can copy + paste the link directly into the section for and you're all set. This video is awesome, but it totally skips over how best or easily you can map your file paths for images. Good luck!

Otherwise, the same thing can be done via CSS without any JS at all. If you add :hover to the .img-text-wrapper class with: position: absolute; transition: 1s; filter: opacity(90%); background-color: #000; you'll get the same result when someone hovers on each portfolio item. Here is the scss for the above: .img-text-wrapper { position: absolute; top: 0; display: flex; flex-direction: column; justify-content: center; align-items: center; height: 100%; text-align: center; padding-left: 100px; padding-right: 100px; &:hover { position:absolute; transition: 1s; filter: opacity(90%); background-color:#000; } }

@@heykiel5184 try this way to pick that problem. here is example (1) in the place where i wrote images it represent folder name where you put all the photos, inside your web page (2) where i put photo.jpg is that you are going pick-out the details of the photo you want to insert .

That's exactly where I am with it. I was enjoying the process and now it's pretty frustrating, especially since even going through pages of the comments, it doesn't seem like anyone was ever given a solution. I hope you guys figured it out!
@hairplayyy2 жыл бұрын
I'm sure you figured it out by now, but I wanted to add my solve in case anyone else comes across this tutorial and ends up having the same issue. When I started the project I created the initial folder on the desktop and titled it with a different name ("Website Practice #11"). So when I downloaded the "images" file he provides for this tutorial it was of course located within the file called "portfolio-html-site-master" (since this is where it was unzipped to and how he created it). When I got to the part in the video where the images should be showing up, they weren't, and while I could get the images folder to show in VScode, I could not get the images folder to nest into the main workspace folder I needed it in within VScode. So I went and found the "images" folder within my desktop, copied it, and pasted it into the folder with the name I had created for the project (Website Practice #11). When I went back to VScode, I saw the "images" folder was now WITHIN the folder I was working in. I'm extremely new to VScode so there may have been a way to do this within VScode, but after saving and refreshing the webpage, the images appeared and I can continue. I hope this made sense. It was definitely a path issue! Hopefully this can help someone who has the same hiccup.

Great Tutorial!, I have used programming languages b4 so I was able to follow along your Javascript. I wanted to know how JS integrated with HTML and CSS because I have made a website with HTML and CSS but not JS. This tutorial helped me out, thanks! Would appreciate it if you made a video talking about the integration of JS with a non-interactive site made with HTML and CSS.

Just a PSA - for those trying this in 2021 - at 1:21:49 he mentions that the index for the "portfolio-img-background" is "1". For some reason, it was index "3" for me (chrome 90.0.4430.212). Just find the appropriate index number once you inspect and use that. Took me a lil debugging to understand why I was getting errors.

So I learned some sort of basic HTML in 2006, but never got into CSS. I am shocked what simple CSS and a bit Code can do by now. The JS Part was kind of very cool, as I handle Java Application Systems on Daily basis but never got into the codes itself. This little script and basically your debugging was alone a very important step on learning how JS is handling the objects in the web page. It took me about 2.5 hours to build the page with you... And another 3 hours to build the Webserver on a remote host and extend your page with 1 active link leading to an internal Jenkins application so I would say... Great Tutorial and pretty awesome steps for a Saturday. XD

I got rid of the Js code which was confusing, and used instead CSS to accomplish the same effect within just a minute 😉. Here's the CSS code I wrote: .portfolio-item-wrapper:hover .portfolio-img-background { transition: 1s; color: darkslategray; filter: brightness(55%); } Change the color to whatever you like and play with the brightness depending on the kind of images you've got ;)
