It’s nice to see and EMD (Virginian) and a G.E. (Norfolk Southern) on the same train as it makes spotting the similarities and differences a lot easier. The distinctive feature of the EMDs are the two fans on the roof above the radiator section (the fans on the G.E. are hidden under the metal grating, though the two both have a large bulge on the back where the radiators are.) The distinctive feature of the G.E. Unit is the two air tanks above the fuel tank, but below the walkway on the right (Engineer’s) side. Also, the exhaust stack is more pronounced. One could go on and on, but that’s a topic for a whole ‘nuther video! 😎

AC, another gem. Lovin' the high/wides. It's a shame that Air Products is moving, but stuff like that happens. Keep up the great work.

Thanks, Trav.. I don't get a lot of time online at the moment but I have to get over to your channel check out your newest stuff.

I didn't realize how special those grain cars are. Saw a NS whole unit train lead by a CN locomotive of those cars.

It really depends on where you're at.. Here in Northeast PA, anything CSX is rare although a LOT more frequent now than at any other time in the past.. CSX cars can be seen in about half the trains but this is only one of two times that I've ever seen anything "Family Lines" in this area and the only time that I've ever seen it in Steamtown or on the D-L..

I got the 052 in Manville on its journey to Morrisville. Those are rare enough, but the Virginian was a huge bonus. Nice video, buddy.
@Trains217 жыл бұрын
Thanks, Brendan.. Yes, they are rare (only 2 or 3 per year) and when you can get Heritage to boot.. Why not?.. Get em' while you can though, Air Products is moving to Florida.

Another awesome video AC! That 052 looked familiar ;) I appreciated the extra info on that move, as I never knew much about it. I also didn't know that Air Products is moving to Florida. That makes me extra glad that I went out and saw it on the Lehigh Line...never knew when it'll disappear. Also always enjoy the DL action!

Thanks, Scott.. I've just been told that Air Products cancelled their move to Florida but I don't know if that's true or not.. We can always hope!

Unfortunately I don't.. My best advice is to get on some of these Facebook groups (if you're not already on them) and listen in.. You can usually get a lot of good info on various special moves taking place.

hey I have a question. Why does Norfolk have stricktly roof lights instead of nose lights? like I've seen a mix of nose and roofs on other railroads but on Norfolk they're all roofs. Why is that?
