Thank you so much for your reaction! It's so nice to see someone recognize and describe the meaning. You might enjoy Hua and Victor Ma doing “ Mr. So-So”. Your ability to grasp these concepts then “ teach “ many watching you is really awesome. You get “ concept “ and “ context , metaphor and offer an example . Your child is fortunate to have you as a father . Hua told Victor he could “ spit /rap “ faster . I don’t think Victor fully knew it until Hua convinced him. Victor is American Born and the switch between English and Chinese is astonishing. To have been able to enjoy Hua and Victor and then Dimash with Victor is awesome as it is given the geographical/language /cultural differences. I’m really liking the direction music seems to be taking . The philosophy alone grabs ones soul ( and exposes what we have been lacking in music and “ self “ individually and collectively ). I think this generation of artists is proof of epic change . They are proclaimimg and claiming it . My generation dealt with many issues . 60’s and 70’s music panicked govts (and parents ) it’s my opinion the markers of big change begins in the music first . Once it’s there -it gives birth to action . The idea becomes form . Music is “ collective consciousness” and I think we have reached “ critical mass “. I’m glad my grand kids have access to it . I want them to embrace and become a part of it . If Covid has a silver lining -it’s what we have been able to discover musically on the net . You’ll find fan groups for Hua and Dimash that always create a huge gathering globally . We call each other “ friend “. Regardless of language differences. Thank goodness for the ability to connect with translations. It’s a beautiful thing . 🌍🌎🌏👈🏼☮️❤️🎶

So enjoying following the start of your journey with Hua Chenyu - you immediately pick up on the whole concept of the song which so many vocal specialist reactors seem to miss. All the 2018 Singer pieces (and 2020) are excellent - please don't miss out on "Child" - but there's so much more. Dimash and Hua Chenyu are so different and yet both so brilliant in their own way. Hua Chenyu has such thought out and well worked concepts for each song, and his vocals are incorporated into the overall music to communicate the lyrics, appropriate emotion and energy at 100%. A personal favourite outside of Singer which I have not seen mentioned much is "I really want to love this world".

He is an arranger of songs since he was an adorkable 23 year old who won Super Boy in 2013 at 23. He was doing Pop, Rock & Chinese Opera Classical Chinese music. This show is The Singer and in 2018 he did all covers of songs he rearranged. That is what he does and was on a TV Show called THE NEXT...given a song and in 24 hours rearrange it to something else. One old song was horrible, MY SKATEBOARD SHOES...he rearranged it and it was a #1 hit!!! He holds Mars Concerts every year, 2 or 3 nights in a row. Each one is an experience. Last year he was on THE SINGER and sang only his original songs, in a specific order to tell a story. It was amazing, the last of 3 songs was all Rap with Chris Li, she was rapping with him and Chinese is sort of rhythmic. Then there are the clothes!! OMG!! His clothes tell a story. I grew up with all the Rock Icons and there is no one like him. Also, NUNCHUCKS is by Jay Chou and you should check him out separately. They know each other and Jay allowed Hua to rearrange and cover it. I think you should do a song Hua did on this show called CHILD...it is mostly vocal and you will hear the voice go seamlessly from register to register with no cracks in his vocals. Just like he went from style to style and your vocal chords are different in each genre. What can I say! I hope you will do more snd do the songs from the Singer 2020 of which he won but each song is different. Thank you.

I love you FIl! Your comments about music and artists is so insightful and spot on! 🥰 I love Hua Hua's versatility and that he doesn't conform to mainstream. Life would be so boring. He's genuine and a philosopher. There aren't many artists that still speak to my heart and soul, but he, Dimash, JJ Lin, and a few others have breathed new life into me. If you want to see crazy genius, you should react to Exaggerated. The song was written by Eason Chan after the death of the very talented HK singer/actor, Leslie Cheung, who took his own life. Hua Hua admired him so much. The song was a challenge from his fans to sing it. It's a difficult song, as it is in Cantonese and he speaks Mandarin - kzbin.info/www/bejne/j5vEYWeEZbOqp9k. I get goosebumps listening to him sing it (some parts may be off key, but it's on purpose). I feel that not only was this song written for L Cheung, but I see elements of Hua Chenyu in the song because of how he grew up. I look forward to more!!

in chinese martial art philosophy n cultural belief system , soft power can overcome hard power . So softness for the chinese is referring to the art of taichi which uses soft power [the body inner chi ] which if mastered, is a force more lethal n powerful than hard power of fighting with raw brute strength. The one inch punch made famous by Bruce Lee is eg of mastering the art of soft power.

The paradox of sayin nunchuck is hardness mixed with softness can be attributed to the fact the weapon might look "soft" to people as compared to the awesome dangerous looking sharp blade sword spears, metal machete n axe weapons. In actuality in the hands of a master skillful practitioner , nunchuck can be turn into a killer weapon capable of knocking out opponents in fast speed n a very effective offensive n defensive weapon. So never judge by appearance The principle of soft can conquer hard in Taichi art applies to martial arts weapons too

Just wanna point out that the rap is also considered rock. I only know this because I saw a subbed interview where HuaHua almost had a mental breakdown trying to figure out if and how he should explain it to the people not understanding the difference lol And this is also not his song, he rearranged it, and it's basically a whole different song. The original is a rap song. But the lyrics are not written by him. (HuaHUa does not write his own lyrics most of the time. He has said he has tried but his words are not able to keep up with his songs. So he has professionals write them under his strict eye. He once asked one of the most famous writers in China to rewrite the lyrics to his for him when he was just a rookie, and let me just say, that is very bold.) Edit 2 years later: I think my English has gotten better. Needed to correct my spelling and wording once I saw my own old comment lol

Hua Chenyu led me to you. Have been enjoying your reactions to his performances and when you go all philosophical over the lyrics. It shows your deep understanding of the world and human behaviour. I'm sure you've noticed that Hua, when he does covers, he chooses songs that have profound lyrics. On the surface, they may sound like an ordinarily good & entertaining song but if you dive deeper into the lyrics, will be "blessed" with a good lesson. This song was written by Jay Chou, another songwriting phenomenon. Please watch and appreciate the original
