Huahua is one of the most influential Chinese singer/songwriters in China. He's so versatile, being able to compose or rearrange a song in as little as 24 hours. He effortlessly combines rock, pop, rap, classical into anything he does. I love his performances! In this song, he combines rap, rock, and classical chinese opera. Even his hand movements are reminiscent of a soprano opera singer. Thanks for reacting to him!

I would say one of my favorite but I absolutely love all Hua Hua performances. Yes he's a genius musician/composer, I love all his own original songs for their original music and deep lyrics. He's also well known for his rearranged covers as he did many in Singer 2018 and in a show called The Next in 2016/2017, almost all his rearranged songs became instantly viral. He's also an awesome performer with a clear vision of how he wants to interprete a song, his stage presence is fantastic, really all around performer/artist! (Hua means flower in Chinese, his nickname is Hua Hua, aka Flower Flower or The Flowers..)

Yes, he is very versatile. He rearranges all the songs by himself, he has amazing ideas. He doesnt sing a song same way twice. Fake monk please with eng subs, u need to know what that song is about. And prepare for something special!

All time favourite artist! Also after Singer 2018 check out Singer 2020, it was a special season: Year of the Hits so a few previous singers where invited again and could participate for a second time. He became second in 2018 (and Jessie J number 1), but won in Singer 2020 with 51.12% of the votes so definitely a new record seen in Singer. In 2018 it was mostly his rearrangement skills and versatility that come to light, in Singer 2020 I’d say composing and versatility as well but especially his personal growth and thinking. Many of his songs carry a message for the world and he only sang originals (10/11 from himself which haven’t been brought out yet).

Welcome to Hua Hua's genius world! I can not recommend highly enough that you immerse yourself in his performances and be stunned and blissed out. 1. His 2018 Singer performances 2. "The Next", a series of 24 hour rearrangements ( especially "Great Sage, Equal to Heaven" ) 3. The 2020 Singer series which recently finished. It features two trilogies of songs that are stunning in their breadth of musicality, metaphor, mythology, spirituality, introspection, sorrow, hope and love. Listen to them in order to do them justice.

At first I thought his clothing, movements and appearance where a bit weird. Also later found he has an interesting personality, but I later realised that’s actually exactly why I like him so much 😂 except for Freddie Mercury I have never actually really liked a singer a lot. HuaHua certainly surpasses all singers in my opinion, in terms of composing/expressing and uniqueness. I later also found out his fans are called Martians, now I have been one for 2 years, but wish I found him earlier really.

Hua is a composer and a rocker but who works in a variety of genres, often weaving them into the same song as you saw here. "Nunchucks" is a famous rap song that was just rap. The melodies and use of pop, rap/rock and then traditional Chinese Opera with the appropriate special hand gestures (called "orchid fingers) was conceived by Hua just for this show. Hua is famous for his "rap fingers" that go along with his flow and I won't forget them either.

You have only scratched the surface with this performance by Hua and I highly, highly recommend the others from Singer 2018 as they form a song cycle. All of his songs are in Chinese but have been translated so just do a search that includes the words "English Sub" so that you can follow along.

I love Fake Monk and Seven Personalities as well, but certainly shouldn’t start with those songs if you don’t know him yet. Both sad songs, although one might not experience it as sad. Talk about depression and negative surroundings which are very personal for HuaHua, it’s also very artistic so one must open his mind or resonate with his feelings to understand the song. That’s why I think most people fear others reacting to them, but I say do it after you’ve reacted to a few of his songs already. ❤️

As hard it may be to believe, Hua Chenyu had actually noticably improved tremendously from Singer 2018, both in character and composition. He took Singer 2020 easily with all-original compositions (Save for a single song), most of which are from his New Hit Album, New World. (Competing against Hugely-Talented Veteran Singers and masters-in-their-field, namely Zhou Shen, MISHA, Tia Ray, Jam Hsiao, Lala Hsiao etc.) His outlook on life also improved considerably as well and had grown much healthier (partly because he made the right friends and joined Ace vs Ace S4/5).

All of the singers in Singer2020 are phenomenal to listen to and a cut above previous seasons. I recommend giving them a listen. Zhou Shen is especially popular now & Tia Ray's full potential was in full display, along with Jam & Lala, MISHA also showed her full strength and experience.
