Hua Hin is the Golfing Capital of Thailand

Appears most of the courses are relatively close to each other which is great. How to does the Banyan club feel from a member point of view? It looks like a great track. I know it's more $. I want to look into the membership packages like you showed for Palm, that was helpful. Palm cost converts to like USD $4.3/k upfront for 10 yrs then $550/yr dues and $20 each time you play covers caddy fee and tip. Decent for sure if the course is solid.

Banyan ranks in the top 5 in Thailand on many ranking lists. It’s quality all around for the course and facilities. If you play a lot then memberships are the way to go. Most have a membership or some type of bulk round deal or monthly memberships, but they are terrible at advertising them or putting them on their website.

How busy are the courses there? I understand "time of year""time of day" etc etc. But in general, is it fairly easy for you and the boys to get tee times?

Seems pretty wide open most of the time. Tee times between 7:00 - 8:30 are popular on weekends. But weekdays seem daily wide open right now. It will change in Dec-February when then winter travel peaks

BS Pattaya area has 5x the courses

Both Hua Hin and Pattaya have about 8 premium courses that you actually want to play. Hua Hin premium courses rank higher than Pattaya premium courses. Courses in Hua Hin are within 30 min max, while Pattaya are up to 60 min away. Pattaya for quantity if you include up to 60 min drive, but I’d rather drive 3-15 km and play multiple courses ranked in the top 20 in all of Thailand. Play with golfers who have lived in both cities for a year plus, they always prefer Hua Hin for golf, Pattaya for nightlife.

And it's also the Most Expensive in Thailand, the courses here have price wars, if golfing is slow, Thai's crazy logic is raise the price to make up for lack of players. The prices they mention in this video are false

@@MONKLJ you are correct that golf is more expensive than Pattaya. If you join a golf society then rates are similar, and many courses have memberships for people who play all the time and then it becomes cheap. But golf in Thailand can add up because renting a cart and rehired caddy is already around 900-1000 baht. In a very hot country, better play flat courses or be in great health if you want to walk.
