Looking forward to take it out for a run or a bike ride and Im curious about how it works with a heart rate belt! The only thing I´m missing is a "training" mode in the apps... There are lots of different sport modes but no simple training one, like weight or body weight training... At my old Garmin systems i had the possibility to create modes like that or they where pre installed..... But the first impression is great! What a great smart watch!!! Really good looking and seems to be proper built!

If I buy the Chinese version and leave the watch as it is, without installing the custom ROM, will I still be able to install the official International firmware after it is released or will I have to buy a second watch in order to have the official English language with all the updates?

Yes, sure. There is a downloadable chinese rom that you flash back and you are back to defaults :-)

tech4all I'm very happy to see your tutorial. My wife bought me one of those and I've noticed that it is a chinese only version, so it's being transported right now. Either I will return it or try to install the english rom. Do you think it is possible to reverse back to original rom once official international (english) ones are available? Thanks.

Heavyneto - from knowin Xiaomi;s habbits - that will likely be possible. Thing is that perhaps unlocking the bootloader will void your warranty. BUT: almost none of the wholesale stores actually check that, so that shouldn't be a concern. Reverting to stock ROM is easy, so you don't have to worry about that. I am using this watch ever since I got it in English and it is wonderful.

Hi! I wish there was a simple answer.... But let me try: If you put the english ROM, you will no longer be able to use the stock updates. But these updates eventually get part of the updates of the English ROM. So you will get them with a bit of delay.

Hi Diego, I'd check the drivers - could be that there is something wrong with the fastboot drivers. Try to reinstall them.

Fastboot driver is tricky :( Best thing you can try is to uninstall it, and then let the PC discover the hardware again and install it automatically. If you use windows 8 or 10 it should happen automatically.

Hi Jaime, use the following commands: adb shell reboot bootloader after you are booted into fastboot, type: fastboot getvar all This will show you the bootloader version.

ADB is multiplatform, however the batch files will likely work on windows only. What you can do is to check the batch file commands and execute them manually one by one using adb on mac.

Yeah - if the daemon is started, do you get something when typing "adb devices"? If no - then the drivers are missing.

Maninder Singh it is. There even is v2 if the rom. But I will recommend flashing the official international version. You will get all the latest updates.

Hi man, thank you for your comment. If I go through every single step, it will be quite boring and will not bring much on top. As usual I have put a description which is very detailed, as well as pointing to the origina XDA forum thread. If you get stuck somewhere, I will be glad to help you. Follow these steps: 1. Make sure you have working adb and fastboot on your PC and have the bootloader unlocked on the watch, for the AmazFit Stratos you need to unlock the bootloader on the site: unlockamazfit.com/index.php 2. Download the zip file to your PC and unzip the content 3. Windows: double click the file “Install.bat” macOS: open console, go to the StratOS downloaded folder and type ./Install.sh 4. If you haven't already connect the watch to the PC, do it now and press enter 5. The tool will copy the necessary files to the clock and start the installation. We have to wait a little bit. ATTENTION you may have a OK and FAILED strings in console is perfectly normal! The installation takes about 8-10 minutes and you can see the progress directly from the watch, at the end of the app optimization the watch will start in Italian but you can change language in my custom menu.
