Been wearing Luna Sandals for years and you'd be surprised on how well they work on trail runs and long distance hikes. They are very similar to your homemade sandals and if anyone hasn't given a minimal sandal a try they should.

They are easy to make, I have made a few different styles for myself. Paracord actually works pretty well for the lacing 😀👣

Great lacing pattern, thanks! I’m just getting started with this type of sandal and your video is really helpful.

So keep them tied all the time or untie and retry when you remove and put them back on? 🙏

Love this idea for teaching to Scouts on our Fall camping trip. The second part of the lesson will then be to get them to cut their toenails.

What happens when they get wet? Won’t the rawhide deform?

@Callum-38 yep those are all good options! I have a pair that I made from old car tire rubber and is almost good as new even though years old already. Just it has to be a tire without metal wire inside, so you can cut it with a knife.

Thanks for the demo but I went new school for old school sandals. Xero Genesis Barefoot sandals. Whitetail’s are too near the highway so not a real harvesting option here in Fla but these synthetic sandals have the same look and style of what you laced. My feet feel great and I walk better closer to nature, at least till it gets too cold. 🥶

Nearly every survival situation that I have seen go wrong started when the feet started to go wrong, I can’t imagine trench food could take cold with sandals.

Spanish is your language is not a brown language it's a white language So when you say your own language incorrectly it's sort of ironic it does not make you more Gringo to say it incorrectly but the European Spaniards do not pronounce your title like that I think the H is silent😉😅
