Whoa!! I just saw myself at minute 3:52 wearing my Tilley shorts and favourite shirt talking to a local, as usual my wife says...Yes we were there then and were blown away by the reasonably entry priced "Garden" of rich eccentric Edward James and equally of surreal sculpture Loreana Carrington that has a fabulous world class museum in Xilitla and another impressive one in San Luis Potosi. All worth the trip to this mountainous town with spectacular scenery and friendly locals.

Can you believe you can go from Real de Catorce to Xilitla driving in just a few hours?! - I did the same trip you made but driving south from Monterrey a few years ago. Spending two nights at Real and two in Xilitla then moving south to Jalpan de Serra and Zimapan. AMAZING! I could have spend a week in just that last strech of road. So much to see!!!!!!!!! Also, do you know if I can rent a car in Mexico with only a debit card? I don't have a credit card. It came up in a live stream about doing a Baja road trip in May
@jbvmty
@jbvmty 5 жыл бұрын
@@davidostrowski679 BAJA! That is an adventure I hope to do next year (2020). Not sure about the debit card because they usually use it as a guarantee in case you go missing with the car... never done it, so I can't say for sure. You can also fly to Loreto (BCS) and take buses down from place to place. Otherwise, I would do the round trip from La Paz and up to Loreto then back down to Los Cabos. I have been to the north of Baja. That can be another round trip from Tijuana down to Ensenada across to San Felipe in the Gulf of California and back. The middle of the Baja peninsula is very isolated, sparceley populated, and (some say) boring apparently... just a LOOOONG drive...

Look behind you at the restaurant where you are eating cecina, there is a Saint called San Antonio who is up side dow, we do this in Mexico when you ask him to get you a husband or boyfriend, yo put him this way and you turn him back to his feet again when you get the boyfriend or the husband

"The Mexican food fog" lol... accurate as hell jajaja. We call it "El Mal del Puerco" (The ailment of the Pig). I am curious, how long it took you to walk from downtown Xilitla to the garden? It looked like a steep taxing walk! (especially after those enchiladas).
@davidostrowski679
@davidostrowski679 5 жыл бұрын
The ailment of the pig!!!! Literally the funniest thing i've ever heard, and so appropriate! I reckon it took about 45 minutes walk to the garden, then again i was stopping for filming, I cut a lot of that out of the video. It was actually mostly downhill, not too bad!

Hola Arturo! I talked about Baja in my last live stream and did a poll, Baja had the most votes. I talked about doing a road trip from Tijuana (I've been there before) to Cabo, but I need to research the logistics and costs, also is it realistic to still be able to do English lessons etc. Do you know if I can rent a car in Mexico with only a debit card? I do not have a credit card. Thanks amigo!

@davidostrowski679
@davidostrowski679 5 жыл бұрын
It's part of Chinese philosophy/religion, pronounced 'Dao'. It means journey, path or way. Ie my channel is about my long term travel/working online journey, also connected to Asia as I spent a lot of time there and also to do with language as I teach English 3 days a week. There's a video about this in CDMX somewhere
