I had 2 laptops for a couple of years just laying there because they were broken. Thanks to you I fixed both of them yesterday. Acum sunt la facultate la tehnică dentară și probabil mi-am format mâna. Când termin poate mă apuc și eu de youtube să-i învăț pe alții :D

Great soldering skills and nice tip about the hot glue to secure the port plastics from stressing the solder joints.

i replace couple times similar huawei charging ports. But my coworkers use compound, i mean the red thing that come hard after heating. Maybe hot glue is not best idea, or maybe port is not to hot to meld glue and it is ok to use hotglue. I am sorry for my english, it is my 3rd language. I realy enjoy to watch your videos, thank you!

Why you don't use a grinding pen to grind the points for soldering

YOU ALWAYS USED TO DO A GREAT JOB , I HAVE QUESTION WHY YOU DID NOT USE HERE THE MECHANIC SOLDER IT COMES LIKE PASTE !!

I have a question, does continuity between the connector charger in the port and whenever it is supposed to go on the board implies that the soldering was done correctly?

hi sorin, admire your careful skills with soldering such small bits. i guess charging sockets often get over stressed resulting in broken tracks but hard to see cracks. regards your bridging the centre tracks with wires, did you do this as a precaution or did you have evidence tracks were broken?

If you buy used electronics from UK, ask if it ever has been to Sorin repairs, so you can ask for a discount for possible missing capacitors

Im sad that you are located so far away🥹 we need a new motherboard repair service for our pc repair shop until I can learn myself. That can take time. Hopefully watching your videos over the years I can start. Any pointers on where to start?

Sorin, why don't you first restore the tracks with wire and then lower the port onto them?
@robertmckelvey30917 ай бұрын
How come you don't put the copper traces with the copper wire down before you do the port
@orange11squares7 ай бұрын
bc the wires are round in section and will interfere with horizontal position of the port and with the good tracks that will be too low to make proper contact with the port pins.

Because when the battery voltage is too low due to long time inactivity like in broken or unused devices, you need to manually push current into them, until it reaches the normal discharged battery. A normal lithium battery voltage ranges between 3.7 (dead) to 4.2 (fully charged). Anything below 3.7 and it might not accept anything from chargers. I guess it's about safety. Or maybe when the battery is too low, the charger doesn't even feel it's presence? Not sure about the last bit.

Might be better to remove the solder mask with a fibreglass pencil?
@gorjy96107 ай бұрын
Sure, if you work on one board. If you like him work on dozen of them every day you house end up full of fiberglass dust. Scratchy if not something worse. I hate these things.

Sorin, the reason you have so much trouble with soldering is because you're using the wrong type of tip. Conical tips are trash! Either a chisel or a bevel tip would make your life a heck of a lot easier. I personally use the Hakko T15-BCF2 for 98% of the jobs, its large enough to transfer heat into large ground pads and small enough to get around a board. Try a better tip, you'll thank me later!
@saetto847 ай бұрын
I think he knows. He uses what he has around. If he could solder with a hot nail he would. Probably he burned the perfect solder tip already burning plastic 😂😂..super Sorin
