If you are referring to 4K video recording, there is always a benefit in shooting in 4K. First, the video has a much higher bitrate and it looks more detailed on any screen - seriously, take a look at our 4K and 1080p camera samples on your 1080p computer screen and you will see a huge difference in detail. Second, it's future proofing your memories. Then again, some phones still have a superior video stabilization at 1080p which can be a make or break for specific needs. Also, not every computer would playback 4K smoothly so that might be a roadblock too. So in the end, 1080p vs 4K is a personal preference. There is no right or wrong answer.

TechnologyGeek i pre ordered this phone, still waiting on it tho. What do you think about the front camera? I think somehow it looks more blurry and not that sharp compared to some other devices. It looks like one of these app which blurrys out your pustules 😂. I still bought it because of all the other nice specifications since i dont use the front cam anyway. (I tested this in the shop)

I must say a few things! I got this phone today and I wanted to share some stuff with you guys. Many reviewers have some concerns: 1.the fingerscanner is slow and need hard pressure. Absolutely NOT. This was fixed for the release 2 the face unlock is slower. Same here, fixed for release, it is too quick for me. I can't even show my friends the finger print scanner haha 3.emui have almost all solutions to the complains, you just need to find the settings, idiots :D no app drawer? Come on. It is there haha 4.the most common mistake I see with the news gesture control :thinking you need to swipe diagonal to get the assistant. Read the fuckking notes haha. Swipe UP when close to a corner. Not diagonal haha. This is the world's best phone. I am soo happy

Google Pixel 3 XL cost the same as the Mate 20 Pro in Canada. Comparing hardware between the two the Pixel is inferior, Google should price the phone @ $600 for the XL and $500 for the Pixel 3

Google and Apple don't need 6-8gb RAM or very high end processors ( which they have by the way) to compete with these phones. Their magic is in software and one nice features like 120hz touch input rate

If you’re worried about not having 6-7 apps open in the background then either you need a new job or you’re livelihood depends on your phone! This phone is without doubt a powerhouse. It's the phone that made me leave Apple products and I'm very impressed. One problem is the so called 'gluegate' issue. My phone glows green like it's radioactive but Huawei have been good and will be replacing it shortly.

One big issue that no youtuber or reviewer ever said is that the mate 20 pro with curved screen just felt like my old s6 edge which has TERRIBLE palm detection, which is very very frustrating. Even with all those goodies, note 9 ain't any worst when compared it to the mate 20 pro but at least note 9 is more like a refined product instead of being like a 'prototype' that experimenting all the 'new stuff' which is good for innovating the smartphone industry but not as good when most of those features to me are just gimmicks but it's very subjective. And the benchmark for my mate 20 pro is very high but when it comes to ui fluidity I think it still lacks a little as the gpu is not as strong compared to Smapdragon. If I get a chance to choose my phone over again I would lean towards note 9. One extra note to those who are thinking of picking up the mate 20 pro, the phone heats up and has statics when charging. Think wisely before u actually purchase the phone, not every youtubers are fully honest with the mate 20 pro review or maybe they just cant cover up everything.

I own it, I love it, and the speaker is actually great, even when plugged in, compared to other smartphones. A major complain was about plugging in "best" top quality headphones: I own a pair of top headphones and I will never play them on a smartphone, except maybe the LG G5's music unit, but not even then: I have a dedicated fiio unit for music, as anyone that owns a pair of quality headphones. It's like driving an Aston with low quality worn out tires: what's the point of having 800 euro headphones if you're gonna use them on that cheap smartphone audio unit? I love my phones (own LG G5 and the huawei mate 20 pro), but neither compares to a dedicated portable music device.

You are right, but you'll get free replacement for the phone itself if you happen to get an inferior screen, so I don't think there is anything to worry about. There is always some quality control problem for the first batch, for any brand.

see Huawei making plays in terms of performance numbers and 7nm SOC but still whytf ISP is like 2 generation behind every flagship Snapdragons,Exynos and Apple A-series chips,it can't do 60fps still and the stablization is still not on par with Pixels and iphones,even iphone 6s and samsung s7 can do 4k stablized and push 1080p60fps which are way old for comparison tbh but that's a bit of disappointment and their SOCs always lags behind competition in terms of GPU based performance,where Snapdragon mostly nails

It will be more powerful, it will have a bigger/better display because they will decrease the bottom bezel. It will also have triple cameras. I feel like these huawei phones are already having a hard time being on equal terms camera wise with the samsung. Dont forget that its gonna be the 10th anniversary of the galaxy line :p its gonna be as game changing as the Iphone X was to the apple phones

Huawei isn't having trouble keeping up with Samsung in NO area. Huawei is way more innovative than Samsung can ever be, every single time Samsung brings out a flagship device it's only the things you mentioned they up the Battery/Screen/Camera and sometimes the internal memory... other than that you get all the basic Samsung stuff, whereas Huawei pack their devices with so much awesome features. As for the notch Huawei implemented a feature so it can be hidden. I'm sorry but any tech savvy person will know the mate 20 is amazing. You can wait for your Samsung but Huawei will always bring out devices that will crush them, mean while I'll be over here changing my friends Samsung devices with my mate 20 pro.

I want that phone with a normal fingerprint reader, no face unlock with a much smaller notch (or no notch), and a flat screen so I can use a glass protector. And most importantly, an unlockable bootloader. Please Hauwei!

Only the models which were released in the beginning were affected by it. The issue has been fixed quite some time ago.

Im finally using this beast for a few days now! Switched from an iPhone 7 plus. Since I think Apple is getting too commercial. Trying to rob as much money from consumers as possible since they know people buy it anyways like sheeps, however it lacks innovation. Even the adapter lightning to aux is not even in the box anymore youll have to spend another 9 dollar when buying a phone which is 1300 or 1600 euro. What a shame. Anyway the huawei mate 20 pro wins definately from the iphone xs max however since everyone shares their likes about this phone i will tell some things i dont like: - front camera is not that sharp especiallt at dark. My wife liked it because it blurs out some parts of your face so it smoothens out your skin somehow. Its still a good front cam tho but far away from the best. - i prefer a flat screen instead of one with edges. Sometimes my hand touches the edge by accident its very annoying. - video stabilisation can be improved - i think this is because its android. The phone is fast with the kerin 980 chip however typing and swiping, its still not smooth as ios, not sure if its the phone or the touchscreen and sensitiviy. -when setting up more email accounts and loading syncin alot of mails the app can be laggy. Also some emails can not syncc always but 15 minutes only? Here some other personal things: - didnt like the standard keyboard, like a simplistic one more so downloaded google gboard - need to get used to it but dont like the position of the volume buttons but think thats just me, made many screenshots by accident lol - there is no option to change the height of your keyboard the 123 button is so down at the bottom near the corner it annoys me everytime i have to move my dumb that low to that corner. Because of that youll have to hold ur phone in an uncomfortable way. - still need time to get used to android, apps dont look that professional even well known apps looks crappy. So ure having a high end device with apps witj terrible design. - somehow i dont see notifications at the lockscreen, sometimes i do see a notification but mostly its blanc?? Im still very happy with this phonr and definately have no regrets since it have many good specifiations and innovations

Yes. You get that in stock camera's pro mode. Plus the photos are waaaaay better than Oneplus. Tbh I like oneplus but they care for other features more than photography.
