I like the 20 X for it's speakers, bigger screen, audio jack (it's more than just a headphone jack), faster fingerprint reader (could care less it is not in display, speed and accuracy is more important), and minimal notch. Pro has more gimmick features (who will ever really use 3D modeling more than once to see if it works) not worth extra cash. Although wish they put wireless charging in the X. Cable is faster but wireless charging is a nice option and I'm sure there's room in that monster for the extra tech. Good video. I wish this phone was coming to the US. :(

How do you get your notifications on your screen without reaching all the way to the top of the screen? I mean from pulling down from the middle of the screen, all i get is the search and i don't want that. Any advice would be appreciated.

@@caseydowning2741 "I don't mess about with things I don't know anything about." It's called Reddit and KZbin. If you know how to READ, you can LEARN. How else do you expect to know anything if you don't even try to learn something new? Using launchers from the Play Store are one thing (it's not rocket science). Launchers don't delete anything and you can easily switch back to the default Huawei launcher if anything. Rooting your phone and installing a custom ROM is another (not for novice users though again anyone can learn how to do it). It's not good to live in fear. It doesn't hurt to try exploring the different features that Android has to offer. The launcher that LG uses on their phones is one of the most hated among the Android community. Using a different launcher solves that.

I agree. The back of the phone is irrelevant to me as I use a case and a flat screen is crucial as I always use a screen protector. I left Samsung due to this. I think that a curved screen and a glass back are my biggest gripe with modern phones.

I am watching this video on my Mate 20 X and i have to say that it is an amazing phone. It has a great cooling system and the Kirin-980 is just a freaking beast. Yes, it is a little less powerful than the Mali-G76 MP12 in the S10+. Maybe 5% less powerful. However, the Mali-G76 MP10 in the Mate 20 X is still able to handle all games at their maximum settings without suffering any framerate drops or fluctuations at all. Next, the GPU Turbo 2.0 software also enables the phone to push out better performance in games! (making it on par to the slightly more powerful Mali-G76 MP12 in the S10+). No, it is NOT a gimmick. I have seen the difference and felt it too. Pre and Post GPU Turbo software update. The liquid multi-dimensional cooling system with Vapour Chamber (VC) and Graphene Film works absolute wonders. The phone only gets a little warm even after almost FOUR hours of playing PUBG Mobile continuously. Yes, you read that right. FOUR hours of continuous gaming at maximum brightness and Turbo mode turned on. Therefore, there is no thermal throttle at all which is phenomenal! Not to mention, the OLED screen is big, vibrant and gorgeous to look at. Playing games on it, watching videos, etc is immensely enjoyable. For the price, the Mate 20 X is simply one of the best phones you can purchase.

I NEVER game on my phone but I want to get this one! Huawei has got the wrong marketing strategy. It's for utilitarians rather than gamers. Also most women carry around phone in a bag instead of a pocket and prefer larger screen, so it'll suit them too.

I think this phone would be a bit too big for most women's hands, but I agree with you that they should probably have marketed it towards a more general audience. If my LG v20 didn't already work so well, I would certainly be interested to give this phone a try because of the huge screen, three rear camera array, and fantastic battery life. It's too bad Huawei doesn't have warranty support within the US either.

I just got mine, LOVE IT! I just wish Huawei had a way by default to set the minimum width (the display size) to like 480, which is what I did in the dev settings. The smallest setting is 423. Setting it to 480-498 (500 makes firefox go into tablet mode) looks absolutely spectacular for web browsing. :)

I have kept using it for 2 weeks already. Every good of the battery and the sound! The camera is a monster. What the most important is: it does not have faceID which shoots lacer to your eyes!! Very safe! And the price is very very good in Hong Kong which costs around 750 usd including (6G+128G and the writing pen). The model in hong kong also allows you to use google apps, not like the one sold in China.

If u just need a superb camera, and can ignore the ui then i guess go for the huawei. Because if ure not using the phone for any extreme photography, or videography, most of the time, ull be dealing with the interface. So oxygen os vs emui. Second thing will be the design language of the phone. Because again youll be looking at the design of the phone most of the time.

I have the Chinese version and I'm using it in the US. You can install a 3rd party launcher (I'm using Nova) but you need to remove the default launcher. There is a thread on the XDA forums that explains how to do it. Great phone.

Love the Mate 20 X. As a Note 4 user for four years so far, I thought the M20 X display size is where the Note series would be by now. But No! Sammie got caught up with following Apple and abandoned the progression and evolution of the best phone line they've ever made to date (Note 9). Funny....Now Apple has a display size, made by Sammie, that's bigger and, claimed by some, better than Sanmies. WTF!

Yeah I remember when I bought note 4 and first reaction was wow the display is big (Coming from a 3.7") And now mate 20 X has a 7.2" display making note 4 look tiny in comparison.. I got two really important questions. The phone you got is the Chinese version from giztop... Does it have the notification problems (the too strict RAM management people are talking about in terms of Huawei's Chinese version phones) I've seen people mentioning recently? And is there an option to use a third-party launcher (Nova for example)? Both of these things are really important for me because having RAM management problems is always bad and the EMUI software is the the thing that holds me from calling this phone perfect and the only thing that can fix that is a third-party launcher. Thanks in advance for any useful info :) :D

I was a loyal fan and customer of samsung for 10 years. Not anymore. Been a samsung user for 10 years. Been buying and using various samsung note models. Decided to change to another brand because samsungs phones were too small for my hands. I always get cramps when texting using my samsung note phones. Saw this model for sale and bought it at a whim for RM3,199. The huawei store threw in some free gifts too - tripod, plastic cover. I also redeemed a keyboard online. Using this huawei Mate 20x, I must say I am pleasantly surprised by how advanced this phone is. So smooth so sleek. Hasn't crashed, unlike my previous samsung note phones. The 1st hour I used it, I felt very upset with Samsung. Felt robbed all this years buying Samsung's Note phones. I don't know how to explain it. Too disappointed. Comparing this mate 20x to my last note fe phone... the difference is too big. And do you know how expensive samsung prices its gadgets? However, there are some tiny issues with this phone. The sound from the speakers sound odd. Especially when you turn it up high volume. It almost seems as though the speakers cannot cope with the sound therefore the device sounds like a something screaming in a tin can. When holding the phone with 2 hands, the palms may touch the screen too which may affect usage. Typing is also sometimes full of mistakes, probably because the swipe function cannot be turned off (or maybe i don't know how to). When typing hurridly, mistakes will occur because fingers may accidentally swipe. For RM3,199... I think it may be a bit pricey. Despite all the pros of the phone... I still think it is quite pricey. However, if I were to compare Huawei to Samsung's latest note models... I think Samsung is being ridiculously expensive. Company is getting too greedy. Can't comment on the Mate 20X's camera because I hardly take pictures. Not a photo fan. With all the above, I would still encourage you guys who love big screens to go get a huawei. This phone works for me reliably for work and entertainment. I give it an A.

Hi can you help me on my mate 20 x the top firing speaker seems to be playing louder than the bottom is this the way it's supposed to be ?

hey gizmochina, i own the mate 20x but one thing i noticed....even in max brightness when i stare directly straight my screen it looks yellowish..esp when browsing through white backround...but when i stare at it on the side of the phone...the yellow ish tint is gone but when i stare straight back the yellow ish tint appear...i kinda not like that..is urs like that too? or is it my seting?

I think i will choose the mate 20 pro because of the 1440p screen and pixel density, the 20 x is nearly the same size as a tablet how are you supossed to that in your pocket

I love the mate 20X but I have a hard time to pick which version will work best in the USA because I don't want to buy it and not able to use it? Anyone can tell me between EVR-L29 or EVR-L00 which one works best in the USA?

I'm also reluctant because of this. I'm reasonably sure it will work with my carrier(AT&T), but concerned that support for any issues will be almost non-existent. BTW, L00 is China version, L29 is global version with playstore and Google apps pre installed.
