I have been using Huawei phones for a while now. GMS limitations are really not limitations if you know how to side load Native GMS on device. The kind of innovation and creativity Huawei puts to their consumer products are really admirable and Huawei didn't really care about US sanctions on them to make their iterative products better and better. My Mate 30 Pro 5G and P40 Pro works like a charm as I side loaded Native GMS on both and they still give a toe-to-toe competition in photography with the likes of latest flagships like iPhone 13 series and Pixel 6 series.

The way I figure it, if you have enough money for one of these really nice foldable phones, You can probably spare an extra hundred or $200 to grab a used pixel or Xiaomi or LG phone to use when you need something more portable or with less durability concerns. Personally, I'm not really in the market for a foldable. I actually preferred the LG V60 dual screen has a nice compromise because you could remove the dual screen case. I know there's a big hinge in the middle but I'll take that over a plastic scratchable OLED. But of course it doesn't look like dual screen phones are finding much of a market. So that kind of stuff probably won't be an option for very long

3:18 It's been 3 years Huawei making foldables and they still have the out fold design. As of now even the best foldable Phone can't be used like a regular phone. You have to use it very carefully and have 5 times more than your normal phone or you’ll end up damaging the screen. I've got a chance to hold Galaxy Z flip on my hand and as cool as it was I immediately understood the vulnerability. I can't dare to put a foldable phone that folds outward. The screen will undoubtedly touch dust particles and get permanent damage 20 times faster than your normal phone. Either you take good care and don’t take it out from home or risk damaging it everyday. And if you take the first choice then it's more of a show piece than a phone. Not mention the price is ridiculous I'm not being a hater or anything just stating fatcs. The design is very innovative and practical if the display was similar to glass but that's fundamentally not possible.

What about the price & availability ? Foldables are all about the design/hinges & screen real state & I know Huawei always nails it. But no GMS, 5g & two years old chipset make it really hard to get one. If they can't create an actual alternative to the GMS & competing chip on their own then Indeed they're doomed in this business. I hope they will come back with bigger and better strategy soon. Until then sorry Huawei 😌

Bar phone reached maximum and saturated boring. Next gen phones are bendable phones. Huawei is always one step ahead than samsung. But some politics lead dump huawei not able to capture this segment. Meanwhile samaung not greatly improved in bendable section. Android too is not well optimised for expandable screen phones and apps too. Hope this segment need fast development in hardware and software.
