Is it worth buying it with Ryzen 7 4800h vs Ryzen 5 4600h (16gb ram) if I can live without a touchscreen? How much faster is it? I've heard that a slower RAM on Ryzen 7 version doesn't allow the processer to open its full potential anyways

I bought this with ryzen 7 and its great ultrabook in this price range with fantastic screen. I was little hesitant due to 3:2 aspect, but after using it for few days i feel its more comfortable to work on this ratio for day to day use.

What i absolutely love about this laptop is the screen (3:2 aspect ratio) and that huge touchpad. I hope more manufacturers implement this configuration on upcoming models. I don't like the fact that Huawei has added slow RAM which gimps the performance of that awesome ryzen CPU. I'm also not a fan of those shiny edges because they scratch and scuff very quickly (they also look tacky to me).

Tbh, the ryzen 5 is the direct competitor to the i7, the ryzen 7 in this laptop is just to fast to compare it to the mobile intel cpu.

Hopefully after January, Biden will undo the Huawei ban so we Americans can also buy this... This is my #1 pick for a new laptop and I can't even buy it. Best I can do is buy last gen ones that are still in stock but they only have the 3000 series ryzen which aren't nearly as power efficient.

The Matebook 14 is heavier, bigger and with less screen resolution/brightness than the X Pro. It doesn't have as good of battery capacity (56 vs 58) and speakers (dual vs quad) but instead has a better cpu and even though it doesn't have a dedicated nvidia gpu it's better at gaming. The matebook 14 has more I/O ports than the X Pro and also it's significantly cheaper.

@@danielmcpherson9062 Yes I did and it has pretty high performance on Visual Studio debugging or building. Only downpoint is that it does not have Wifi6. Didnt notice when I was buying, but still I love my laptop now.

The D series has the old ryzen proccesors in it so if you are aiming for best performance the new matebook 14 is your best bet since it has the ryzen 4000 series with Zen 2 architecture inside. Hope this helped.

It’s a dedicated GPU it’s pretty powerful it can render 4K and it’s cooled it’s pretty powerful it’s should be able to run grand theft auto v and red dead redemption 2 with no issues in medium setting this computer is a gaming pc the only flaw is the camer quality I see I hope this helps !

since the camera is recessed into the keyboard it does not have infrared sensors, and so it does not support windows hello facial recognition. The only biometric login option you have is the fingerprint scanner on the power button.

thats simple math and really expected when gaming: a 56 watt/hour battery and the 4000'th gen H class processor alone draws 35-54Watt under full load (45 on average). Thats 1,5h runtime for the CPU alone (add the screen and other components and you got your 1h) Thats what you get when you put a "strong heart" into such a tiny package. In Theory it would be possible to scale this CPU down to "U" class powerlevels (15-20) via the System BIOS, unfortunally the Huawai Laptops BIOS are quite underwhelming regardion their BIOS setup options.
