During the recent Black Friday 2022 sales, HUAWEI dropped the price on their Matebook 14 AMD 2021 model to under £600 or $736. Features include an AMD Ryzen 7 5700U processor, 14 inch 3:2 100% sRGB touchscreen, 16GB memory and 512GB storage wrapped in a lightweight body. Is it still worth buying in early 2023? Thanks for this review! I couldn't find any information anywhere on disassembly, as I have just scored one of these (R7 5700U + 16G model) for £350 on an auction site without an SSD, and knowing they used T5 screws before I had it in person, so I could buy the required screwdriver was immensely useful!

I’m torn between getting the macbook air m1 base version with 256gb/8rams or the matebook 14 amd 9? Any advice

Id say it's all about what you're planning on doing with it. I think the Air is the perfect note-taking and web-browsing machine in a compact format with great battery, say for students etc. Keep in mind of the limits of MacOS though as alot of programs that work on Windows won't work on Mac. The Matebook will give you more diversity in what you can do with it but lacks some of the features you'll get with an Air.

Do not choose huawei matebooks, thay have main problem with the mainboard, it short circuits due to lack of grounding.
