Hi Steven.. nice to see an other interesting review from you. Yep.. I got the P30 pro. Best camera smartphone I had tried and now as my own.But it doesn´t come cheap.So I guess i have my opinion about this. but if needed a cheaper backup smartphone. the Nova might be the one.Lastly this trade war between Usa and China is so tiresome, Will see how Huawei is doing in 6 months from now. I've got a P30 LITE with no complaints on camera, and the reasons I needed a comparison is because I just damaged it with water and wondered what to get. This review is a totally techy geek examples comparison with plastic and metal objects as subjects. Why not have shown some landscapes and flowers for people who use phones for outside? I wanted to know about the Macro use for centres of flowers. Nova 5T had a spec on this, but this was not discussed. I can discern the brightness more on the P30 Pro, with warmer, (browner) light on the NOVA 5T, so I think I'll stay with the P30 LITE or PRO.

Spec wise, the P30 Pro is the winner and normally I'll choose this one. However, the Nova 5T packs a flagship like SOC making it one of the fastest mid-range phone you can buy. In the end I prefer the P30 Pro (actually I'm more onto Mate series so Mate 30 Pro for me) but I recommend the Nova 5T if you're tight on budget but still want performance.

nova 5t uses same processor, memory and ram as p30pro, difference is in camera, nova has sony imx camera module same as xiaomi mi9 flagship, thats why photos are so good

P40 lite don't have GMS. So no google apps (Play store, Gmail, KZbin, Google Maps...) 5T on the other hand comes with GMS. So it has Google apps. Also, the P40 lite has the Kirin 810. It's a great chip that's great for day to day use and light gaming. It's comparable to the SD750G. But if you plan on doing heavy gaming then it will struggle. 5T has the Kirin 980 SoC. It's more or less comparable to SD845 which is a flagship SoC. So Nova 5T is objectively a better phone. But.. I'd suggest getting something that's... not Huawei. Don't get me wrong, I love Huawei but with how things are with the Huawei ban I'm worried that they might drop support for these Pre-ban phones with GMS like the Nova 5T. If that happens then the value of the 5T will drop by a significant amount. Depending on the user, it might end up almost unusable. So, I think you should try getting something like the Realme X3 which is like an all rounder phone. Or Maybe a Google Pixel 3 which seems like the safest option considering every other value focused brand are from china...which the US seems to have a problem with.
