Huawei P30 & P30 Pro 2023 Review || Are They Worth Buying?

Update: I gave in and got the Pixel 7. The main camera is definitely an upgrade from the P30 Pro, but everything else is a downgrade. I'm beginning to regret my purchase. Also baffled how some basic features on the P30 Pro are missing from Google's so-called flagship. The pure android experience isn't what it is hyped up to be. Genuinely considering replacing the P30's battery and putting the Pixel 7 up for sale.

I dont know where you from but here in Romania there's a promotonial deal from Huawei, battery replacement costs 20$ and they pay for transport fee as well, up until december. I also got a refurbished one yesterday and it has 80%, they consider it optimal, and ofc won't change it, but they didn't even bother to check for full functionality and the standard mic is busted, ok google, shazam etc dont work. Found on forums this is a common problem bc of both mic and the usb charger ribbon that's connected towards the mobo and also carries mic input. I will send it to their service next week and hope they'll also allow me to change the battery at the official Huawei service without losing their semi-useful 2yrs warranty. I also considered buying 7 pro or vivo x90 pro+ from chinese sellers but they cost 4-5x more than this lil guy.

Had p30 since 2019. And still perfect. Only watched this to see what the opinion is now as I've cracked the screen. Still sorks perfect so I won't bother changing my phone. P30 is still brilliant in 2023

I've still got my P30 Pro, although the battery capacity is at 80% now 😥 I'm having difficulty choosing a replacement because the P30 Pro is so feature packed, almost every new flagship feels like it's missing a feature or two. Pixel 7 series is close, but really don't want to move out of Huawei's ecosystem. I genuinely feel like they've got the right blend of Android and iOS type features and integration.

I also am using a P30Pro since its launch, and recently just change my battery to a new one. honestly it's difficult for me to choose a replacement convincingly. with 8GB and 256Gb, and the design , camera settings etc. its hard to fault...

@@ashdoestech ya exactly. And the cameras macro shots speed to auto focus is Superd. Hands down beat sony 2022 flagship model. Honestly, I do not know what can get better. I guess a phone 1TB Storage, leapfrog game changing superior battery life, and hyper charging? I'm not sure when the industry can offer this. But in this fast moving world , the propensity to look for change is always strong :/

I've had my p30 pro for 4 years now. And yes, the battery shows 78%. But he works out 6-7 hours of the screen! Not a single Samsung flagship I had in a year could give such stability. neither on autonomy, nor programmatically. this is the best photo flagship I have had in the last 10 years. and also before there was not even anything to replace it with. but in 2023 a lot of new photoglagians came out. but the prices are certainly higher than when I bought Huawei. ideal smartphone and camera zoom. I already thought about changing the battery in the service and even using it.

Look a local repair shop ask for battery replacement then problem solve,,yes pixel 7 pro is superb but battery life sucks

I was about to pull the trigger on a S23 Ultra or Pixel 7 Pro but just been into Curry and had a hold and try of the above but wasn't blown away. Camera photo quality is roughly the same or not enough to justify spending over a grand. Getting my charge port repaired for £30 at a local shop then my P30 Pro will be a keeper for another year! Great phone with great camera! Thanks for your review

Nice! The P30 Pro is still an awesome phone! But yes I agree, phones are getting so expensive. That’s why I’m trying to focus my videos on older flagships as half the time, they’re still awesome today! Thanks for watching 😊

Using the p30pro since August 2020 and I love that phone ❤️ after an battery change in January it still works absolute great ☺️ best phone ever!!!!

Thats make 4 years i have a p30 (not pro) and i don't find a descent successor, the photo camera is great with optical zoom (i phone 14 and pixel 7 no comment...),a perfect travel compagnon

i love this phone coz all things from this phone are amazing. So the signal reception is very strong in weak area... No reason to me, to buy a new phone

Nice review! I'm looking for a new phone with compact size and good price, I'm considering either the P30 or Pixel 6a since they're about the same size and price range, which one would you say is more worth it? I don't really care about updates as long as it works fine with the current version. I especially like the headphone jack on the P30 but not sure if everything else holds the comparison.

I really like the P30, especially that compact size. Everything about the phone is great. Obviously the Pixel has a more stock android experience and more updates, but like you said if you’re not worried about that. The 6a has about an 800mAh larger battery so that’ll be better and performance from google tensor will be better too. But that colour on the P30 is 😍🔥. It cost me £120 which was an absolute bargain! I do wanna do a video on the 6a, just need to find one cheap enough 😂

@@ashdoestech Thanks for the reply! The P30 has an amazing design for sure, I like this blue color but also the crystal one looks great. For 120 I would absolutely get it, but finding it (brand new or in mint condition) under 250€ is already a challenge here... Will definitely look at your 6a review if you do one 👍

@@ashdoestech I use iphone for years also temporarily bought pixel I think it's really messy keeps getting stuck bugs camera I don't really like people who call it perfect are people who go from low budget phones to pixel I also used huawei must say that Huawei really a nice phone to use i had huawei mate p20 pro then really a camera monster but now it is less old i am also looking around for a 2nd phone also doubt the p30 pro but does it have android 12 or 13 I don't think so I will definitely go for it

@@DeGier İ passed from P40 pro to pixel 6 and it's obviously a downgrade. But for the price (530€ ) it was a great choise. İ bought P40 pro for 900€. But if i'm gonna buy a New phone, it should be al compact one. They must be basis Galaxy s serie, pixel a series or the mini and standard iPhones.

I want to buy the P30 pro but im am concerned about the camera issue people are having with emui12. Does any one have the same issue with camera not focusing. What are you doing to resolve it.

i have this divice 4 years now i don't face any problems my camera is perfect this device is with autofocus but if you want focused better you can tap with finger and is focused great

Guess that depends where you buy them from. I picked up the P30 for £120 and the Pro for £160, but this vary hugely depending on condition.

Tell me ur opinion now i have the huawei nova 9pro with harmonyos 3 because is chinese version ,but we have big problem withour banks refuse to have huawei wallet and choose only applepay and googlepay ,and i am thinking badly to buy P30PRO, new not used from china global edition with gms and i am little confused what i do ?I like huawei phones for their quality.i had xiaomi ,samsung ,but as huawei phone nothing was close to quality.
