Poor baby, is the Chinese dragon picking on the US eagle? Huawei has completed a domestic supply chain for making chips up to 14nm and obviously they are trying to improve on that. There are some production equipment like etchers that can do 5nm that even TSMC is using. As China creates its own production equipment, chemicals, design tools, and photolithography processes, it will claim IP for these items and it will behoove the US to try and use them because China will ban their use by the US. It is tit for tat. China is also moving ahead in alternate forms of semiconductors in photonic, graphene, and quantum chips. China has a photonic and quantum chip production line in operation in late 2023 and has developed the process for graphene semiconductors. China is also developing its own EUV source called the SSMB (solid state microbunching) that can produce the EUV light source for several EUV lines. China, along with Russia, is also working on x-rays as a lithography light source. Russia claims it can produce 7nm chips currently. In my opinion, we have not seen the best of Huawei and 2024 will be a banner year as Huawei fills out its smart phone line, begins its international sales of Harmony OS Plus (Hongmen), and begins production of its AI/GPU Ascend series chips to compete with Nvidia. Huawei is keeping its production supply chain information close to its chest and letting the US guess as to what it plans next. We know that China can produce 12 inch graphene wafers so it is very probable that Huawei and others are taping out semiconductor chips using graphene as the next step with production to follow. I also think that TSMC and Samsung will abandon their US factories as they realize the 50% increase in costs projected at the beginning are now looking even higher, making them unmarketable. We see TSMC and Samsung getting support from their governments as they gear up new factories at home and in the China mainland. They know that if the US semiconductor companies need fab, they will come. Except for Intel, the major US semiconductor houses are fabless. Intel has received the first new version called High-NA (Numerical Aperature) EUV from ASML and we will see if Intel can leapfrog ahead of TSMC and Samsung to 2nm or smaller. Texas Instrument also does fab but nothing earth shattering as it sticks to mature node chips for its line of semiconductors in the analog and digital logic sectors. What we will also see is the growth of chip stacking for 3-D chips that will rival advanced chips and be more cost effective. Huawei owns patents for some of this technology. I also believe that the US is finding itself uncomfortable about China's rise as Biden threatens to not allow Huawei US patents in the US. This is a sign of desperation. He seems to say things now before he thinks. If Biden did that, China would reciprocate and the $30 billion in royalties that China now pays for US semiconductor patents would evaporate and the whole patent protection system would be in turmoil.

I think the Chinese should find another source of revenue and replace all the incomes they gain from manufacturing U.S. smartphones and appliances, so that they Americans could manufacture their own cellphones. I am sure they would love it having a $6000 iphone once they no longer have access to the cheap Chinese labour force.

that will impact on trust. right now U$ is killing their own economies by breaking trust in trade relations. U$ is also killing trust in U$D by weaponizing the dollar, seizing and sanctioning Russia, so more and more nations will be dropping the dollars because you never know when U$ will simply seize your dollar reserves. China doesn't need to do anything like that, U$ is doing it to themselves.

I do not believe that the American public nor the Chinese public actually have the truth about this matter. And it certainly is not any of the tech enthusiasts fault. But if I were in charge I would have had enough common sense to know that you do not take Google away from the public no matter who's public that is China's or Americas or anywhere else. I would be very mad if I had bought a new phone and then some other government all the sudden took away its ability to work for me like they did with Google services ✌️.
