@@cg8397 Yeah yeah I know all about the Corsicans and French relations and how there is a lot of hate and wanting independence etc.. I 'm just stating his mannerisms which in my opinion are very much French.

One of my favourite mathematicians, I have watched so many videos about him since 2013 (and he won the Fields Medal at 2010). Actually I was really moved at the end of it, I don't really know why but it's true. Just be curious about if there's someone else who has the same feeling

I feel sad watching this old video, especially after observing his deterioration following his abandonment of mathematics for politics.

Me too. I really liked the part about sharing the journey. I think mathematicians in general should work on sharing their work and enthusiasm for the subject. I feel like they are sometimes lacking in that regard, which probably has to do with the fact that mathematics is a bit of a solitary science by nature. But I don't think that means we shouldn't try!

"How can I be so stupid? and at the same time happy to be in that state" Well said Cedric! When people see me frustrated, they tell me to consider changing my field, but what they don't understand is that I like the frustration since as you just said, it makes us happy

Modern man, the guy!! There are women scientists and mathematicians? Too old fashion and old world… as his fashion
@cg8397 Жыл бұрын
No, women in STEM are still a minority due to lack of interest (most women prefer fields that involve personal relationships rather than abstract concepts)
