Cedric Villani's research and work has won him many national and international prizes, in particular the Fields Medal, usually regarded as the most prestigious award in mathematics. In this talk, Cedric Villani explores the many facets of beautiful minds in Mathematics and explains how Math is poetry.
In the spirit of ideas worth spreading, TEDx is a program of local, self-organized events that bring people together to share a TED-like experience. At a TEDx event, TEDTalks video and live speakers combine to spark deep discussion and connection in a small group. These local, self-organized events are branded TEDx, where x = independently organized TED event. The TED Conference provides general guidance for the TEDx program, but individual TEDx events are self-organized.* (*Subject to certain rules and regulations)

Whatever Mr. Cedric says, if you listen it carefully ,definitely you are going enjoy maths, love maths and then your mind and body is certainly going to be beautiful which will be beneficial for species residing on earth. As mathematics is beautiful same can be said about mathematicians. Love you Mr. Cedric Sir as well as your voice is miraculous which attracts me towards yourself.

the universe speaks and its language is mathematics. i am not a mathematician far from it but when i realized it was the language of the universe i also realized how very important math was. then i learnt that the greatest minds that have ever lived all had something in common and that was mathematics e.g fibonachi sacred design sonic geometry. so if one wants to understand the universe mathematics is the key and the connection we have with it so my love for mathematics begins

Fields Medal is equivalent to Nobel Prize in Mathematics. He has talent in his area of research, it is rare to see a Frenchman speaks fluently in English.
@doneyhon4227
@doneyhon4227 8 жыл бұрын
+tube1848 It's hard to explain a complex idea in English when you are french. There is a meaning under grammar in french. There is a meaning under the mute letters. There is a meaning under the masculine and feminine words. When you speak english you lose all these things and the meaning is just under the words. Very hard for us to make sense with an unsophisticated language. Our culture turns arround complexity and we are not utilitarian... the english language does not fit with our perspectives. It's easier for a person from a protestant country to speak english than us because he understand easily the logic behing it.

+Doney Hon the problem with your arguing, my dear, is that ze germans have an even much more strongly flexed language than you have and still I am able pretty well to express deep meaning, even poems, in english, i.e. do I, as a german, regularly write poems in english and how many poems did you write in french my dear extremely educated person?

Well Cedric was taken unawares about the amusement of being compared to Lady Gaga , a beautiful and creative person herself , albeit from a different circle . Both eccentric as much in talent as in their bizarre dress sense. Now, Mathematicians can carry truck loads of Ego . However here is a man who finds a certain liking to the fact that he's being compared to someone , who after all is like any one of us , though she may raise many an eye brow because of her ' out of the world ' dress sense. . How more humble can he get. I love you both Cedric and Lady Gaga. After all you both live in the same world...........rgds.....Dr.William Rajan from India.

@@gilmusique1751Since you know so much about Cedric Villani's personal life, could you please explain why he never married Claire Calmet even after more than 20 years and 2 children together? Is he one of those French Communists who believes that "Marriage is a bourgeois construct"? Anyways, in his book "Birth of a Theorem" he referred to her falsely as his wife. Even atleast one mathematics colleague in the book made the wrong assumption that they were married.
