I have both 8X & Y9 2019. Y9 2019 is from Y series is below the Nova series, while Nova 3i is the actual direct comparison to Honor 8X. Y9 is definitely a little bit lower, not in term of general usage, but in term of features it offer & camera specs. In general, casual daily usage is identical to 8X & Nova 3i. Gaming, in my case playing Asphalt 9, Asphalt Xtreme & PUBG, no different in game performances (altho there is something about battery optimization on Y9, it drain faster when enable game acceleration, compare to 8X). Honor 8X & Nova 3i have better specs on rear camera than Y9 but the photo quality produces is subjective to person preference. Super Night Shot mode on 8X is better than Y9, which i realized it produced more noise on Y9. Some minor features on 8X & Nova 3i that missing on Y9: 1) Adding the phone's watermark is not available for Y9. 2) No 3D Qmoji on Y9 like it is on Nova 3i. 3D Qmoji is Huawei's exclusive only & not available on any Honor products. 3) Y9 doesn't have Slow-mo feature like on 8X. 4) Y9 doesn't have 3D Panorama & Artist mode features like on Nova 3i. 5) Y9 only have 3 choices of System Navigation, while 8X have 1 more extra: Gestures mode.

So, Higher Storage Capacity and Better Build Quality (Glass) vs Bigger Battery and Natural and Wider Photos. Higher Storage means that you dont need an expandable storage (for some of the people but not all). Glass back will give you that premium look and feel but glass is fragile and glass breaks. For plastic on the other hand, more sturdy but gets a lower reception or signal unlike glass. Bigger Battery means you dont need a charger next to you very often but having a larger battery gives you more minutes to fully charge your phone (but for the watts of the charger it is a different story). Wider photos means wider viewing angles. No cons here. For me since I only play NBA 2k17 and 2k18, and saves youtube vids and captures many pictures, i definitely want a bigger storage even if the camera is not better than the Y9 (not a huge cap on photo quality) I'll go for the HONOR 8X.

Watching this on my Y9 2019 and satisfied that I bought this phone. Charging is super fast and battery life, well, 48h on standby. I literally charged it overnight before class, used it for a whole day and still has 35% battery left before I went to sleep. Gaming? Well, 10 full sessions of PUBGM before the battery goes to 30%. Basically expanded my storage via Micro SD Card. Overall, an excellent mid-range phone that I'll recommend before switching to the badass big brother P30 Pro.

@@bbxppkirin8273 for the price I'll give it a 9/10, I also have a P20 pro 2018 and honestly I'm enjoying using this phone, the extra real estate is definitely welcomed, my only real complaint is I wish it had fast charging like the P20 pro and an amoled screen this would've been perfect for me, I don't play games just text/call/browse the internet... Camera is OK but nowhere near as good as the P20 pro.. HTH!

It all depends on what the user's priorities are but, I love both phones. Especially for Huawei's track record for delivering one of the best bang for the buck devices. But, in all I do like the Y9 better because I love taking photos and the Auto/AI modes are great. Massive improvement on your videos as well, keep up the good work 😁😁

But also, take it for what it's worth. if you like vibrant colors then, the 8x is for you especially for just posting in social media but, the Y9 is in my opinion for those who really want to capture the feel and look of the scene you're taking a picture of..

8x rare camera is better then y9 19. Little bit wider image doesn't mean better quality image. Also 8x glass back is better then y9 19s plastic back. I prefer honor 8x. NB: I am Honor Play user.

My Huawei Y9 2019 has the 13mp lens on the rear and the 16 mp lens for the front cam. Specs from different sources varies as well. Isn't the camera lens placement standard for all y9 2019 models? 🤔 Personally I'd prefer the high resolution lens on the rear since I'm not really a selfie guy, i only chose the y9 over the 8x because of the slight battery capacity advantage.
