So it started acting up again with not doing the cuckoo and music until the half hour. It had to do with the hands on the Hubert Herr. It's been running good for a week with the following: Hour hand, minute hand, hand nut. Two washers, then the decorative nut. The decorative nut kept getting too tight to let the movement work properly. Without the decorative nut, the hands didn't turn at all. So two washers seems to do the trick to keep the decorative nut at the right pressure and not self tighten as the hands turn.

I've read that the shellac that glues the pins to the barrel can be accidentally removed with alcohol, heat, or an ultrasonic cleaner, leaving some pins tipped or falling out. I've found the adjustment of how far the clock movement lever pulls the music box arm is really tricky - thanks for your video of how to adjust it properly.

@@BradfordNeedham that may be the issue of why two of them have started to stick after I cleaned them. I'm gentle on the barrel but have used a little ammonia based cleaner briefly to brighten up the barrel. Maybe no cleaner on the next one. Thanks for watching!

I have several videos but have never been able to make a plastic wheel as the videos that I have watched. I think it is because these wheels are smaller than the video from Rusia that I originally watched. My friend Ron talked to the Amish and they told him that they micro drill holes on both sides of the crack and then using a wire close up the crack. I tried that at Rons house and the wire I was using kept breaking. So I am sure that you have to have the right kind of wire. I have fixed them with baking soda and superglue but I am not sure how long it will hold. So far they are still holding. I think I done it a year or two ago. The wire that stops the governor fan is on the back side of the rack stop lever. But that is ok. It is early in the morning and when you are tired you cant think straight of what you want to say/do. One of my videos coming out I put the lever that trips the music on the back of the rack stop lever because of lack of sleep. The pencil idea was a very smart idea. I dont think the new hands is going to fix the issue with the clock not going off right. That has to do with the hurricane symbol has slipped on you on the movement. With Regula movements it is ok because the hands are round and can be adjusted. With Hubert Herr it creates an issue because the hole is square so cant adjust them. That is why I make the square hole hands into round hole hands but put a square washer on first so the hand doesnt get where the hour hand is. Lot easier than pulling the movement and fixing it that way. As always you did a great job with this video. 186 subscribers. 0:01 ​@@munnerlyn3 the hands I ordered have square hole washer. Hubert Herr clocks always go off about 2 minutes after the hour. I can deal with that, but not 5!
