The parts turned out nice and shiny. When I first got my ultra sonic cleaner my clock repair friend told me to turn it up to 40 or 45* I forget but I found that turning it to only 35* and putting the parts in for 5 minutes at a time helps prevent the lacquer from coming off. The cuckoo shut off lever that has the eclip I always put that back on first when I remember before I start putting all the other parts on. You are doing a great job on putting this movement back together and explaining to folks what they need to know to fix theirs. That is why you now have 201 subscribers. Keep it up. Thanks for the shout out. God bless you and yours.

I want the lacquer off. It looks better to me without it.

I had to get the larger Ultrasonic machine. I got tired of my movements not fitting. Really, I prefer the old lacquer comes off. It is old and yellow and when you polish the brass, it glows. I do have the lacquer spray for the clocks, but I only use it on Anniversary clocks as needed.

I feel the same. After 50+ years it does not improve the natural look. Thanks for watching!

Can you tell me what brand the ultra sonic cleaner is and where did you purchase it from? I like that its small, thanks

It is a Vevor. I got it from Lowes.com and picked it up at the store. The small size makes me not so hesitant to change out the solution for clean new solution. It holds about 3 cups.
