BREATH CONTROL, airy vocals and falsetto, head voice, good chest/mixed range (a lot of "low-high-low-high" as mentioned before), vocal FLEXIBILITY ( + good phasing), vocal AGILITY, great dynamics control, vocal transitions (head to chest and vice-versa), resonance is also needed in the projected/louder parts. This song is really tricky to sing. Everything must be precise from the beginning to the end. Otherwise It may sound weird. That's what makes it so hard to sing/replicate. And ALSO Mariah sang it in balanced mixed voice (which is hard to control, require a great head/chest control and the 2 registers must be developed in the song range, most singers can't control a balanced mix all the time like Mariah could in her prime days). That what makes it a hard song to sing.

He is very talented, no doubt, his tone is beautiful, soft and airy tone, and for a male to sing like that is very difficult. Not to mention the runs and riffs, beautiful, he did it almost exactly like MC. But I noticed something, not just from this cover but other covers as well (Love Takes Time, at the end, again, he's missing the power, and ran out of stamina), especially the belt parts. He strained and didn't have the stamina to reach those notes flawlessly. Not just that the belts sounded very light, like there's no power to it. From what I understand, He's not singing in his chest voice, mostly falsetto and head voice. In other to achieve that powerful, and resonant belts, one must sing in their natural chest voice, and since MC is a female, it's pretty normal for her to belt and reach all of those 5th octave notes. I don't know what his natural singing voice is like, where his tessitura lies, but from what I've heard, he sang the verses with ease, but the belts were just not strong enough. His voice placement might be lower, but he gave his best, but since the belts are up there, it just won't do it. If he changes the key and sing it with his chest voice, it would make a big difference. At the end of the day, he got the style, the tone, the voice, but lack in support and power.

Yes, I do aware that he is a dude, I stated he/his a lot of time. But jokes aside. That's why I was curious to know his real voice, I stated that his voice might be lower, and his tessitura might be lower and more comfortable for him. Here, he sings exact notes as MC, which means he has to intimate it high, and since it's not natural, whenever the belt parts come up, he strains and pushes the limit, as he's already singing way too high for his tessitura, that's why he's losing a lot of stamina, he focuses everything on the verses and when the belts come, it's just way too exhaust, shall I say. I hope I make sense. And please, don't think of me as a hater. I'm actually looking out his vids and enjoy his singing. If you know whether he has a vid of him singing in his natural voice, I would like to see/hear it.
